S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Patch 1.1.2 fixed several stability problems and added automatic backup saves on PC. GSC Game World’s notice, dated March 10, 2025, says the update addressed shader-compilation stalls, some save-loading issues, and a crash when exiting the game. PC backup saves are kept for four days.
What Patch 1.1.2 changed
GSC’s Patch 1.1.2 notice lists fixes for shader compilation, save loading, and exiting the game, along with a new PC backup-save feature.

- Shader compilation: Fixed issues that could leave shader compilation stuck, cause an infinite wait, or lead to a crash.
- Save loading: Fixed some issues that prevented saves from loading correctly.
- Exiting the game: Fixed a crash that could occur while exiting.
- PC backup saves: Added automatic backup saves, retained for four days.
Where Patch 1.1.2 backup saves are stored
On Windows PC, GSC gives this folder as the location for backup saves:
C:Users%username%AppDataLocalStalker2SavedBackup
The %username% part represents the Windows account name. GSC specifies the backup-save addition for PC; its notice does not establish whether an equivalent feature was added on Xbox.

Was Patch 1.1.2 the latest update?
No. GSC’s support listings include a later Major Patch 1.2 notice, so 1.1.2 is not the latest numbered patch represented in those official notices. That does not establish the game’s current version as of October 8, 2026. GSC printed March 10, 2025, 12:14 on the Patch 1.1.2 notice; that timestamp is not independent confirmation of rollout timing on each platform.
