Samsung announced it as the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor, with regional availability beginning in 2025. Samsung listed a US launch price of $999.99 and a UK recommended retail price of £799; availability and pricing differ by market.
Where is the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF available?
Samsung announced the G60SF in May 2025, with its initial regional rollout covering Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. Samsung later announced US availability through Samsung.com and UK availability through Samsung.com and select retailers.
| Market | Availability or price announced by Samsung |
|---|---|
| United States | On sale at Samsung.com for $999.99, announced August 12, 2025; Samsung also stated the monitor includes a three-year warranty. Samsung US announcement |
| United Kingdom | Available from Samsung.com and select retailers at £799 RRP, announced September 26, 2025. Samsung UK announcement |
| Canada | Samsung’s product page for the silver LS27FG600SNXZA variant currently displays “Not for sale.” Samsung Canada product page |
| Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia | Named as the initial rollout markets in Samsung’s May 2025 announcement; that announcement does not state local prices. Samsung global announcement |

Why is it called the first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor?
Samsung described the G60SF as the world’s first OLED gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate in its May 11, 2025 announcement. That is Samsung’s product-launch claim, not an independent ranking or test. Its listed 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time is also a manufacturer specification.
#1 Best Overall
- Samsung’s 27” Odyssey OLED G6 Gaming Monitor is engineered for perfection with a QD-OLED Display featuring QHD resolution made to deliver high brightness and a wide range of colors for gameplay
- OLED Safeguard technology supports performance by actively helping to prevent burn-in with a thermal modulation system
- Glare Free Technology keeps screen clear of reflection from external light sources
- The Pantone Validated screen accurately reproduces 2100+ lifelike colors and 110+ skin tone shades
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth and more realistic scenes
A 500Hz panel can refresh up to 500 times per second, but using that maximum effectively depends on the computer and game producing very high frame rates. For competitive play, assess refresh rate and response time alongside the GPU, the games you play and their actual frame-rate performance; the specification alone does not establish input lag or delivered frame rates.
What are the G60SF’s display specifications?
| Specification | Samsung-stated detail |
|---|---|
| Panel and size | 27-inch QD-OLED; flat |
| Resolution | QHD, 2,560 × 1,440 |
| Maximum refresh rate | 500Hz |
| Response time | 0.03ms GTG |
| HDR certification | VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 |
| Peak brightness | Up to 1,000 nits in Samsung’s HDR test at 3% average picture level (APL), with peak brightness set to High |
| Variable refresh-rate support | NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro |
| Surface treatment | Glare Free |
| Colour validation | Pantone Validated; Samsung Canada describes validation for more than 2,100 Pantone colours and over 110 SkinTone shades |
The 1,000-nit figure is a small-highlight measurement under Samsung’s specified 3% APL HDR condition, not a claim of sustained full-screen brightness. The Canadian product page says its Glare Free film is 54% less glossy than conventional anti-reflection film; that is Samsung’s comparison, not an independent measurement.

- STUNNING VISUALS and BRIGHTER HIGHLIGHTS: Samsung QD-OLED Monitor delivers superior brightness and dynamic contrast, with an expansive spectrum of colors and nearly limitless shades for consistently brilliant imagery
- OUTMANEUVER OPPONENTS w/ SUPREME SPEED: Dodge, counter and engage faster with QD-OLED technology, offering a near-instant 0.03ms response time (GtG); Stay ahead with HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort connections and a 360Hz refresh rate in QHD resolution¹
- IMMERSE IN SMOOTH ACTION WITHOUT DISRUPTION: Support of Variable refresh rate (VRR) with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro keeps the GPU and panel synced up to eliminate choppiness, screen lag, and image tears
- DYNAMIC COOLING SYSTEM: For the first time ever, a Pulsating Heat Pipe was introduced into the monitor to prevent burn-in; The Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat 5x better than the older graphite sheet method
- THERMAL MODULATION SYSTEM: Algorithms predict surface temperature and then control the brightness accordingly, to automatically reduce heat²
How does OLED Safeguard+ address burn-in risk?
Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ is designed to reduce heat and prolonged exposure to static screen elements. Samsung lists dynamic cooling, thermal modulation, logo and taskbar detection, and a screen saver among its protections. These features are safeguards, not a guarantee that burn-in cannot occur; Samsung’s published product claims do not establish long-term burn-in performance through independent testing.
- Dynamic cooling and thermal modulation: Samsung describes these as methods for managing heat.
- Logo and taskbar detection: The monitor can detect static elements such as logos or taskbars as part of its protection approach.
- Screen saver: Samsung says the screen saver helps limit static-image exposure.
For US buyers, Samsung’s August 2025 announcement states that the monitor includes a three-year warranty. Warranty terms can differ by country, so check the warranty offered with the specific regional model before purchase.

What should you check before buying?
- Whether 500Hz suits your games and system: The maximum refresh rate is most relevant when your PC and chosen games can produce very high frame rates.
- Resolution and intended use: QHD at 27 inches is the stated format; weigh that against your gaming, desktop and content needs.
- Room lighting: Samsung’s Glare Free treatment is intended to reduce reflections, but the cited comparison is Samsung’s own claim.
- HDR expectations: True Black 500 certification and a 1,000-nit peak under the stated 3% APL test describe different aspects of HDR; the peak figure is not full-screen brightness.
- Local purchase terms: Confirm stock, final price, return policy and warranty for your region. The Canadian page’s “Not for sale” status illustrates that availability is not universal.
Samsung’s specifications and announcements establish the advertised capabilities and launch terms, but do not provide independent testing of image quality, input lag, burn-in longevity or real-world frame-rate performance.
