Instead, the five-model lineup divides those headline specifications across different displays—and the highest refresh rates require lower resolutions.
The 32-inch Odyssey 3D G90XH reaches 6K at 165Hz or 3K at 330Hz, while the 27-inch Odyssey G6 G60H reaches QHD at 600Hz or HD at 1,040Hz. Samsung also offers a non-3D 6K G8, a 5K model and a 4K QD-OLED display.

The five-monitor lineup at a glance
Samsung announced the range on December 23, 2025, showed it at CES 2026 from January 6–9, and announced global availability on May 20, 2026. “Global availability” does not mean every model is in stock in every country, however; regional model numbers, prices and inventory vary.
| Model | Size and panel | Native mode | Dual Mode maximum | What distinguishes it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odyssey 3D G90XH | 32-inch IPS | 6K (6,144 × 3,456) at 165Hz | 3K at 330Hz | Glasses-free 3D, eye tracking and 2D-to-3D conversion |
| Odyssey G6 G60H | 27-inch IPS | QHD (2,560 × 1,440) at 600Hz | HD at 1,040Hz | Extreme esports refresh rates |
| Odyssey G8 G80HS | 32-inch | 6K at 165Hz | 3K at 330Hz | 6K gaming and productivity without the G90XH’s 3D feature |
| Odyssey G8 G80HF | 27-inch | 5K (5,120 × 2,880) at 180Hz | QHD at 360Hz | High pixel density with a faster competitive mode |
| Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH | 27- or 32-inch QD-OLED | 4K at 240Hz | Not the same Dual Mode headline | OLED contrast, Glare Free coating and USB-C charging |
Samsung describes the G90XH as its first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor and the G60H as its first 1,040Hz gaming monitor. Those are Samsung’s claims; the important qualification is the operating mode in which each maximum is available. See Samsung’s US announcement for the stated specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- Samsung’s 27” Odyssey G5 QHD Gaming Monitor delivers brilliant visuals for exhilarating gameplay that’s more immersive than ever before.
- QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) boasts incredibly detailed, pin-sharp images.
- With a wide 178° viewing angle, the IPS panel consistently delivers crisp, clear hues from various viewpoints.
- 180Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms response time (GtG) allow fast reactions for ultra-smooth gaming, plus G-Sync compatibility syncs the GPU and panel to reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing.
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth.
What “up to 1,040Hz” really means
The G60H’s 1,040Hz figure applies only when the monitor is switched to HD Dual Mode. At its native QHD resolution, it reaches 600Hz. The two figures are alternatives, not additive specifications: you cannot use QHD and 1,040Hz simultaneously.
That makes the G60H primarily an esports display rather than a general-purpose high-resolution monitor. HD reduces image detail, but it also gives a gaming system a much easier rendering target. The practical benefit depends on the game, CPU, graphics card, connection, display settings and whether the system can produce extremely high frame rates. A 1,040Hz panel does not make every game render at 1,040 frames per second, and Samsung’s announcement does not establish a particular input-lag advantage through independent testing.
For players who want more detail, QHD at 600Hz is the more balanced mode. For a specialist competitive setup where maximum motion refresh matters more than resolution, HD at 1,040Hz is the headline feature.
6K is also a choice between detail and speed
Samsung lists the G90XH and G80HS at 6,144 × 3,456, a 16:9 6K format. Compared with 4K, that provides more pixels for desktop text, editing timelines, large game interfaces and multitasking. At 32 inches, it is particularly aimed at users who want a high-density desktop as well as a gaming monitor.
Native 6K gaming is substantially more demanding than 4K gaming. Both 6K models therefore offer Dual Mode: 6K at 165Hz or 3K at 330Hz. Calling either display a “6K/330Hz monitor” without that qualification is misleading. The 330Hz mode trades away spatial resolution to make a higher refresh rate possible.
Odyssey 3D G90XH: 6K with glasses-free 3D
The 32-inch G90XH combines a 6K IPS panel with Samsung’s glasses-free 3D system. Samsung says real-time eye tracking adjusts depth and perspective based on the viewer’s position. The monitor also supports 2D-to-3D conversion and game-specific 3D effects.
Rank #2
- REACT IN REAL TIME: 180Hz refresh rate eliminates lag for exhilarating gameplay with ultrasmooth action; 1ms response time (MPRT) provides frames with minimal blur, allowing you to jump on enemies right when you see them¹
- STAY IN SYNC WITH THE ACTION: AMD Radeon FreeSync keeps your monitor and graphics card refresh rate in sync to reduce image tearing; Watch movies and play games without interruptions; Even the fastest scenes look seamless and smooth²
- DISCOVER ENEMIES IN THE SHADOWS WITH BETTER VISIBILITY: Black Equalizer allows you to adjust dark areas in games, letting you spot your enemies in even the darkest hiding nooks²
- A NEW LEVEL OF ACCURACY: Line up more accurate shots with Virtual Aim Point; Crosshairs on the screen give you a new level of accuracy in any game, when precision can mean the difference between life and death²
- FRESH EYES WIN MORE: Eye Saver Mode minimizes blue light to help keep your eyes relaxed and comfortable when gaming for extended periods; The Odyssey G3 also reduces irritating and frustrating screen flicker, so you can focus longer²
Its display modes are:
- 6K at 165Hz for maximum resolution.
- 3K at 330Hz through Dual Mode for higher refresh.
The 3D feature is not a universal guarantee that every game will look equally convincing. Samsung says effects vary with game content and PC capability. Compatibility information is managed through Odyssey 3D Hub, which Samsung says can be downloaded from Samsung.com or the Microsoft Store.
Recommended Free Tools
Samsung specifically names The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture and Stellar Blade as having optimized 3D effects developed with game studios. That is different from ordinary 2D-to-3D conversion or a title merely appearing on the software compatibility list.
There are two especially important caveats. Odyssey 3D Hub is unavailable when HDR mode is enabled, and Samsung warns that 3D capability may be limited in multi-monitor environments using more than one Odyssey 3D monitor. Buyers should also check the exact regional model: Samsung’s US Odyssey page prominently lists a 27-inch G90XF, while the announcement identifies the 32-inch 6K G90XH. Those should not be treated as the same display.
Odyssey G6 G60H: the esports specialist
The 27-inch G60H is the model aimed most directly at competitive players. Its native mode is QHD at 600Hz, while Dual Mode lowers the resolution to HD to reach 1,040Hz. Samsung lists HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 among the connectivity features for the headline models, with adaptive-sync support depending on model and regional specification.
The choice is straightforward:
- QHD/600Hz: substantially more image detail and still an exceptionally high refresh rate.
- HD/1,040Hz: the maximum refresh mode, but with a major reduction in resolution.
This display makes sense only if the games you play and the hardware driving them can take advantage of very high frame rates. It is a poor choice if your priority is 4K-or-better image quality, cinematic visuals or a flexible productivity workspace.

Odyssey G8 G80HS: 6K without 3D
The 32-inch G80HS offers the same headline resolution and Dual Mode refresh pattern as the G90XH—6K at 165Hz or 3K at 330Hz—but it is the conventional high-resolution option rather than Samsung’s glasses-free 3D model.
Rank #3
- REACT IN REAL TIME: 180Hz refresh rate eliminates lag for exhilarating gameplay with ultrasmooth action; 1ms response time (MPRT) provides frames with minimal blur, allowing you to jump on enemies right when you see them¹

Choose it if 6K desktop clarity, gaming and multitasking matter more than stereoscopic effects. It is also the clearer choice for buyers who do not want their purchase to depend on 3D profiles or Odyssey 3D Hub.
Odyssey G8 G80HF: 5K at 27 inches
The 27-inch G80HF runs at 5K and 180Hz, or switches to QHD at up to 360Hz. It offers a denser desktop image than a conventional 4K 27-inch monitor while providing a useful competitive mode.
It is the middle ground in the range: less resolution than the 6K G8, less expensive than Samsung’s observed 6K US list price, and far more detailed than the G60H’s HD mode. It does not offer OLED contrast or glasses-free 3D.
Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH: 4K QD-OLED at 240Hz
The OLED G8 takes a different approach. It uses a 4K QD-OLED panel at 240Hz, with a Glare Free coating, DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 and USB-C capable of up to 98W power delivery. Samsung’s global announcement specifies up to 80Gbps bandwidth for the DisplayPort interface and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 on the 32-inch version.
This is the better fit for buyers who value OLED contrast, deep blacks and cinematic image quality over 6K resolution or four-digit refresh rates. OLED buyers should still account for the technology’s long-term burn-in risk and use the panel’s protective features appropriately. USB-C charging also does not guarantee that every laptop can drive the advertised video modes; the host computer’s USB-C video capabilities must be checked.

Dual Mode means the monitor switches between two operating resolutions and refresh-rate targets. It does not make both maximums available at once.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
| Monitor | High-resolution mode | High-refresh mode |
|---|---|---|
| G90XH | 6K at 165Hz | 3K at 330Hz |
| G60H | QHD at 600Hz | HD at 1,040Hz |
| G80HS | 6K at 165Hz | 3K at 330Hz |
| G80HF | 5K at 180Hz | QHD at 360Hz |
Before buying, decide which side of the trade-off you will actually use. A monitor’s largest number is rarely its everyday mode: 6K is useful for clarity and workspace, while 330Hz, 600Hz and 1,040Hz are useful only when the game and PC can sustain the necessary frame rates.

Connectivity, bandwidth and compatibility
Samsung lists HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 for the headline models. The G8 family supports DisplayPort 2.1, AMD FreeSync technology and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible support according to Samsung’s announcements. Exact ports, certifications, firmware and included cables can vary by region, so buyers should confirm the product page for their country.
The G80SH’s DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 interface and USB-C charging are particularly relevant to high-bandwidth desktop and laptop setups. A suitable cable and a compatible GPU or laptop are still required; a port on the monitor alone does not guarantee every resolution and refresh combination on every system.
For the 3D model, check the supported-title information in Odyssey 3D Hub, confirm the PC meets the relevant requirements and remember that HDR mode disables the hub. If you use multiple monitors, Samsung’s multi-monitor limitation warning is important enough to check before building a 3D-focused setup.

The checked Samsung US product pages showed delivery and in-store pickup as unavailable at that time. Inventory can change by ZIP code, date and region, so these figures are price signals rather than a guarantee of current stock. Samsung’s global availability announcement likewise should not be read as proof that every model is immediately purchasable everywhere. Which Samsung monitor suits which gamer?
- Choose the G90XH if glasses-free 3D is the reason you are upgrading and you accept supported-title, software, HDR and multi-monitor limitations. Its 330Hz mode is 3K, not 6K.
- Choose the G60H if competitive esports performance comes first. Its 1,040Hz headline requires HD; QHD tops out at 600Hz.
- Choose the G80HS if you want 6K for gaming and productivity without paying for or relying on 3D. Its faster mode is 3K at 330Hz.
- Choose the G80HF if 5K is enough, a dense 27-inch desktop is attractive and QHD/360Hz is a useful fallback.
- Choose the G80SH if OLED contrast, 4K image quality, 240Hz gaming and USB-C charging are more valuable than 6K or extreme esports refresh rates.
The central lesson is simple: Samsung’s headline specifications are genuine stated modes, but they describe a portfolio of specialized displays—not one monitor that delivers 6K, 3D and 1,040Hz at the same time.
