Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe likely monitor behind the “only $500” claim is Samsung’s 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF, model LS27FG602SNXZA. The available U.S. price checks do not establish a broadly available $500 deal: on August 18, 2026, Samsung listed it at $999.99 and Abt listed the same model at $599.99. Treat $500 as unverified unless that exact SKU reaches that price at checkout without a bundle, delayed rebate, or eligibility requirement.
What price is actually verified?
The strongest documented street-price signal is Abt’s listing for the exact G60SF SKU at $599.99, with $999.99 shown as its comparison price. Samsung’s U.S. product page listed the monitor at $999.99. These are price observations dated August 18, 2026—not a guarantee of today’s price, stock, shipping cost, or checkout total.
So the headline’s $500 figure is not established as a general public price. It could reflect an eligible-account discount, a short-lived promotion, a bundle, or a different Odyssey G6. Samsung’s promotion materials include several G6 variants, while its offers page describes qualifying-purchase promotions; neither source, by itself, proves that this G60SF is available standalone for $500. Check the terms and final cart total before treating a discount or credit as the monitor’s price.
| Price reference | What was listed | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung U.S. | $999.99 | Listed price observed August 18, 2026; confirm the live product page and checkout. |
| Abt | $599.99, compared with $999.99 | Same G60SF model; listed price observed August 18, 2026. Confirm availability, shipping, returns, and final cost with Abt. |
| $500 claim | Not verified as a public standalone price | Could depend on account eligibility, a promotion, bundle, rebate, or a different model; the available evidence does not establish which. |

Make sure it is the 500Hz model
“Odyssey G6” is a family name, not a single specification. The model tied to the 500Hz claim is the 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF, SKU LS27FG602SNXZA. Samsung’s product page identifies it as a QD-OLED QHD display with G-Sync Compatible support. Other G6 models have different panels or refresh rates, so check the model code on the product page and invoice—not just “G6” in a listing title.
| G6 model | Distinction established by the cited sources |
|---|---|
| G60SF | 500Hz OLED; G-Sync Compatible. |
| G60SD | 360Hz OLED; FreeSync Premium Pro. |
| G61SD | 240Hz OLED; G-Sync Compatible. |
| G61SH | 240Hz variant listed in Samsung promotional documentation; other specifications are not established here. |
| G60F | Non-OLED G6 variant listed in Samsung promotional documentation; its other specifications are not established here. |
The G60SF product page lists the first three variants; Samsung’s promotion terms also name the G61SH and G60F. Those terms are useful for identifying the family, not for assuming the models share the G60SF’s panel or performance.

What the G60SF offers
The G60SF combines a 27-inch QD-OLED panel, 2,560 × 1,440 resolution, and a 500Hz refresh rate. Samsung rates its response time at 0.03ms GTG and describes the display as VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, with peak brightness up to 1,000 nits. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results; peak brightness should not be read as a promise of sustained full-screen brightness.
Samsung also advertises Glare Free technology, OLED Safeguard+, and a three-year warranty in its launch announcement. Safeguard features are not a guarantee against every form of image retention or panel wear. Read the current warranty terms for the sales region and confirm what they cover before buying; the launch announcement alone does not establish every coverage condition.

- THERMAL MODULATION SYSTEM: Algorithms predict surface temperature and automatically control brightness accordingly to reduce heat.³
Samsung announced a U.S. launch price of $999.99. That makes the observed $599.99 Abt listing a substantial reduction from launch positioning, while the unverified $500 claim would be a further $99.99 lower. The launch price is context, not proof that $999.99 is the current market value. See Samsung’s launch announcement for its stated features and warranty.
Who can make use of 500Hz?
The refresh-rate ceiling is most relevant to competitive PC players whose games and hardware can produce very high frame rates consistently at QHD. A 500Hz panel refreshes up to 500 times per second, but that specification cannot make a game render 500 frames per second. The practical result depends on the GPU, CPU, game engine, settings, frame-rate stability, and the connection and display mode in use.

- SEE EVERY DETAIL: Uncover every secret with infinite expression with DisplayHDR True Black 400, delivering true blacks and rich dark tones without pixel light bleed. Experience unmatched color accuracy, bringing every game to life with stunning detail
- Potentially a good fit: esports players chasing very high frame rates, upgrading from a slower display, and prioritizing motion response alongside OLED contrast.
- Less compelling: players whose systems stay below roughly 240 frames per second, or who mainly play slower-paced and cinematic games. A lower-refresh OLED may deliver the image characteristics they want for less.
- Likely poor fit: console-focused buyers seeking 4K, people who want a larger or 32-inch display, and buyers whose priority is productivity on a static desktop.
Before buying, check Samsung’s current specifications and manual for supported timings and which input supports QHD at 500Hz. The information available here does not establish the exact port, cable, or settings combination. Confirm that your graphics card, cable, selected input, and games can use the mode you are paying for rather than assuming every connection supports it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.OLED trade-offs to weigh
- Static content: Taskbars, HUDs, and frequently repeated desktop elements can contribute to long-term image-retention risk. OLED care features may help, but they do not remove that risk.
- Text and office use: Some users may find OLED text rendering less crisp than on a conventional RGB LCD. How noticeable it is depends on the person and use case.
- Brightness and room lighting: OLED brightness can vary with the size and duration of bright content. Glare Free is Samsung’s coating name; whether its look suits your room and preferences is subjective.
- Resolution: QHD at 27 inches is aimed at high-refresh PC gaming, not buyers who specifically need 4K detail.
Is it worth buying at $500 or $600?
At a genuine $500 checkout price, the G60SF could be compelling for a competitive gamer with a PC capable of taking advantage of its refresh rate, provided the seller, return policy, and warranty terms are acceptable. Confirm that the price applies to LS27FG602SNXZA and is not conditional on buying another product or receiving a later credit.

It is a less obvious value for a gamer who will rarely exceed 240Hz; a lower-refresh alternative may better match that system and budget. No current prices for those alternatives are established here, so compare live listings before deciding.
At $999.99, this is a specialist purchase. Its value depends heavily on whether competitive high-frame-rate play matters enough to justify paying for 500Hz rather than choosing a slower display.
Quick Recap
Check the deal before you order
- Match the listing to G60SF / LS27FG602SNXZA, not simply “Odyssey G6.”
