Emanuel Wilson’s rushing workload swung from 2 carries in Week 1 to 21 in Week 2 and 9 in Week 3, while George Holani’s receiving work rose to five catches in Week 3. A September 10 depth-chart listing puts Jadarian Price first, but that order is not a prediction of carries. The available sources do not identify a goal-line back.
What Seattle’s depth chart does—and does not—tell you
The Seahawks’ August 30 initial-roster article said Jadarian Price and George Holani were expected to split early work, and noted that Emanuel Wilson had been limited in camp. Ourlads’ third-party depth-chart snapshot, updated September 10, lists Price first, Holani second and Wilson third. The roster article records an expectation at that time; the later chart records positional order. Neither establishes a settled workload or guarantees a game-day assignment.
For actual usage, compare the same categories over the same weeks. Carries show rushing volume, but not receiving opportunity or short-yardage assignment. Receptions show completed passes caught, but targets and routes—when available—give a fuller picture of chances that did not result in a catch. Goal-line work requires its own field-position split.
Compare the roles using four separate measures
Rushing volume
Track carries and rushing yards by game, then look at a multi-game span. If team running-back carry totals are available, calculate each back’s share using the same weeks and the same definition of which players count as running backs. A depth-chart slot is not a carry share, and one unusually busy game does not by itself prove a durable lead role.

Receiving opportunity
Compare targets, receptions and receiving yards; include routes or third-down usage if a reliable source provides them. A reception total alone can hide opportunities on incomplete passes. Through Week 3, Holani’s log illustrates why receiving belongs in the comparison: his catches increased from zero to one to five across the first three games.
Goal-line assignment
To identify a goal-line role, look for carries or designed touches inside the 10-yard line, and report inside-the-5 opportunities separately. Touchdowns are outcomes, not a substitute for opportunity: a player can score on limited chances, while another can receive touches without scoring. The depth chart and standard player logs reviewed here do not provide Seattle’s inside-10 or inside-5 split, so no individual goal-line back can be verified.

Availability and game context
Check active status, injury designations, game script and which backs were available in each game before interpreting a workload change. Seattle’s season-opening context included Zach Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) while recovering from an ACL injury, and fullback Robbie Ouzts on injured reserve. Brady Russell was retained as a fullback and expected to help on offense; that does not establish that he was competing for a conventional tailback workload.
What the first three weeks show
The following figures use the individual player logs cited for each back. They describe Weeks 1–3 of the 2026 regular season, not a season-long role projection.

| Player | Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Weeks 1–3 total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| George Holani | 8 carries, 29 rushing yards; 0 receptions | 4 carries, 13 rushing yards; 1 reception for 2 yards | 3 carries, 10 rushing yards; 5 receptions for 48 yards | 15 carries, 52 rushing yards; 6 receptions, 50 receiving yards (NFL.com, 2026 game log) |
| Emanuel Wilson | 2 carries, 3 rushing yards | 21 carries, 92 rushing yards | 9 carries, 14 rushing yards | 32 carries, 109 rushing yards (Seattle Seahawks, 2026 player log) |
Wilson’s week-to-week carry pattern is sharply uneven, so his 21-carry Week 2 is evidence of that game’s workload, not proof that he held a permanent lead assignment. Holani’s Week 3 receiving production changes the comparison: looking only at carries would miss five catches for 48 yards in that game.
The available surfaced logs do not provide a complete, consistent Week 1–3 rushing-and-receiving series for Price, so a precise carry share or receiving role for him cannot be established here. The Seahawks’ team-stat snapshot also displayed lower rushing aggregates for Holani and Wilson than the sums of their individual game logs. That discrepancy is unresolved; the table therefore uses each player’s cited individual game-log series rather than mixing it with the team aggregate.

How Charbonnet could affect the outlook
Seattle’s August 30 roster article said Charbonnet opened the season on PUP after an ACL injury and was expected back at some point during the season. The cited material does not establish a confirmed activation or return date. His potential return is relevant to future workload, but it does not change what the early-season logs show about Weeks 1–3.
Quick Recap
How to keep the comparison current
- Start with a dated roster source. Confirm who is active and note injury designations before treating a depth-chart position as useful context.
- Use one consistent game-log series. Record each player’s carries, rushing yards, targets, receptions and receiving yards for the same weeks; do not combine totals from sources that disagree without explaining the difference.
- Separate role from result. Carries, targets and inside-the-5 touches describe opportunity. Yards and touchdowns describe what happened after the opportunity.
- Reassess after roster or usage changes. A new active back, a return from injury or a major change in weekly workload can alter the comparison. The figures above stop at Week 3.
