Spoilers for Secret Level season 1, episode 1, “Dungeons & Dragons: The Queen’s Cradle.” Solon is freed when cleric Oriel takes the curse haunting him—but that rescue brings the danger closer to the party. Tiamat emerges through Oriel, and the episode ends with the adventurers preparing to face her, not with a shown victory. The climax echoes D&D’s Cult of the Dragon storyline, though the episode’s exact place in Forgotten Realms history is not confirmed.

What happens at the end of “The Queen’s Cradle”?

The episode follows adventurers hunting a dragon cult who rescue a boy haunted by a sinister force, as Prime Video’s official synopsis puts it. A secondary plot summary identifies the boy as Solon and explains that the Cult of the Dragon marked him for sacrifice to Tiamat. The group’s rescue does not end the threat: Oriel takes the darkness or curse from Solon, leaving the boy free of it, but Oriel transforms as Tiamat begins to emerge through him. The party stands together to meet the new danger.

The ending’s turn is a transfer, not a defeat. Solon gets relief, but the force threatening him has not simply vanished; Oriel’s act places the danger directly among his companions. The final beat is a confrontation about to begin. The episode does not show whether the adventurers defeat Tiamat.

Who is Tiamat in Dungeons & Dragons?

Tiamat is the dragon queen at the center of the cult’s plan in this episode. In published D&D campaign lore, she is imprisoned in the Nine Hells, and the Cult of the Dragon seeks to bring her into the world. Wizards of the Coast’s Tyranny of Dragons campaign describes the cult’s effort and the role of five dragon masks in freeing her.

That lore explains why the episode’s combination of a dragon cult, a sacrifice, and Tiamat’s emergence feels familiar to D&D players. The episode uses recognizable elements of the same conflict, but its own ending does not explain every step of the campaign plot.

How does the episode connect to Tyranny of Dragons?

The clearest connection is the Cult of the Dragon’s attempt to bring Tiamat into the world. That is the defining conflict of Tyranny of Dragons, an official adventure set on Faerûn’s Sword Coast. The campaign lore says the cult had shifted from its historic focus on undead dragons and now seeks to free Tiamat from the Nine Hells using five dragon masks. The episode’s cult, sacrificial danger, and Tiamat climax echo that setup.

It is useful to separate what appears onscreen from what the published campaign establishes:

Question What the evidence establishes
What happens in the episode? Solon is freed when Oriel takes his curse; Tiamat emerges through Oriel as the party prepares to confront her, according to a secondary plot summary.
What does the campaign establish? Wizards of the Coast’s Tyranny of Dragons sets its story on Faerûn’s Sword Coast and centers on the Cult of the Dragon’s effort to bring Tiamat into the world.
Is the episode’s exact setting or date established? Not stated in the sources cited here; the campaign’s Sword Coast setting does not by itself locate the episode.
Is the episode confirmed as Forgotten Realms canon? No official canon placement is confirmed in the sources cited here.

So the safest description is that “The Queen’s Cradle” has an evident lore and thematic connection to Tyranny of Dragons, not that it depicts a confirmed chapter of that campaign or a dated event in Forgotten Realms history.

Is “The Queen’s Cradle” canon?

The available sources do not confirm whether the episode is a canonical event in Forgotten Realms history. Wizards of the Coast’s campaign material establishes the Cult of the Dragon and Tiamat’s role in Tyranny of Dragons; it does not establish this episode’s chronology. No named creator statement explaining the ending or confirming canon status is available in the cited material. Treat the connections as recognizable D&D lore rather than a verified timeline placement.
