If you are also pursuing Redmane Freyja, talk to her about her situation before handing over the scroll.
Where to find the Secret Rite Scroll
- Go to the Storehouse, Fourth Floor Site of Grace in the Specimen Storehouse.
- Leave by the exterior walkway and follow the stairs around the outside of the structure.
- Take the descending staircase into the room with the scroll. It is on a table.
The Fourth Floor grace and the room with the table are the clearest route landmarks; enemies may be along the way.
What the Secret Rite Scroll says
This is a key item in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Its description calls it a scroll made of white tree bark and connects it to a secret rite associated with the divine gateway at the tower enshrouded by shadow. It concludes: “A lord will usher in a god’s return, and the lord’s soul will require a vessel.” The in-game description offers that cryptic clue; it does not spell out the ritual’s full mechanics.
How to use it in Sir Ansbach’s quest
Find Sir Ansbach at the Storehouse, First Floor and give him the scroll to advance his quest. If you are also following Redmane Freyja’s storyline, speak with her about her situation before giving Ansbach the item. Gamer Guides and Game8 flag the handoff’s relationship to Freyja’s progression. The precise outcome can depend on earlier steps and choices, so use a full quest walkthrough if preserving every NPC outcome matters.
