Secrets of the Navis Nobilite is a main quest in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. On Eurac V, the route to Lady Cassia runs through a disabled elevator system, a laboratory repair, and a confrontation tied to the Orsellio family. The available guides establish that the laboratory includes a choice between an Adaptive Antidot and an Elixir of Warp Neutrality, but do not provide enough verified detail to promise a patch-proof recipe or outcome for every dialogue choice.

What is Secrets of the Navis Nobilite?

It is an early main quest set at Eurac V, a station associated with the Navis Nobilite, the Navigator houses whose members guide human ships through the Warp. The quest introduces Felek Orsellio and leads to Lady Cassia’s rescue; guide sources describe Cassia as recruitable through this sequence. A creator-authored walkthrough listing also identifies the elevator restart, cogitator, laboratory puzzle, and rescue as its key beats (Steam Community walkthrough listing; GameSpot puzzle guide).

How to progress through Eurac V

1. Speak with Felek Orsellio

The GameFAQs walkthrough describes Felek as saying that his mentor, Theobald Orsellio, betrayed him, sabotaged station systems, and captured Cassia. Treat this as the quest’s reported setup rather than a complete account of every character’s motives: the available procedural source is a third-party guide, not official quest documentation (GameFAQs walkthrough).

2. Restore the elevator route

The station progression depends on two linked repairs. First, obtain Cassia’s blood in a phylactery and use it in the laboratory to rebuild a control rod. Then use the guard-room cogitator to restart the elevator system. The elevator is the route onward to the rescue, so the laboratory task and cogitator are not unrelated side objectives. The sequence is described by the GameFAQs walkthrough and reflected in the Steam walkthrough listing.

3. Complete the laboratory puzzle

GameSpot identifies the Eurac V laboratory puzzle as part of this quest and reports two possible results: an Adaptive Antidot or an Elixir of Warp Neutrality. The available material does not establish a complete, current-build recipe or explain the items’ effects reliably enough to recommend one as universally better. Follow the in-game clues and check the item descriptions in your version before choosing; do not assume that a guide’s precise interactions remain unchanged across patches.

4. Reach Cassia and resolve the confrontation

Once the elevator route is available, continue to Cassia and resolve the encounter. The broad outcome documented by the guides is that you save her, with the quest offering the opportunity to recruit her as a Navigator. This is the reliable high-level takeaway; later companion dialogue and campaign consequences should not be inferred from that immediate outcome.

Should you side with Felek?

A Gamer Guides article specifically discusses whether to side with Felek, but its authors note that they had not exhausted every dialogue through the end of the game. The source therefore establishes that a siding decision exists, not a complete outcome matrix. It does not justify claims that a particular choice permanently determines Cassia’s ending, loyalty, or the campaign. Choose based on the role-playing outcome you prefer unless you are consulting guidance verified for your game version (Gamer Guides: Felek Orsellio choice).

What the quest title means in Warhammer 40,000

The Navis Nobilite is the society of Navigator houses. Their members’ specialized third eye allows them to guide human vessels through the Warp, making Navigator service strategically important to interstellar travel. Lore references describe the houses as guarding lineage information, route knowledge, and house-specific practices; agreements for their service are arranged individually rather than under one uniform contract (Lexicanum: Navigator houses).

The origin of the Navigator gene is not settled lore. Lexicanum records competing accounts, including associations with the Dark Age of Technology and later beliefs attributing the gene to the Emperor. That uncertainty is part of the setting; it should not be turned into a single definitive chronology (Lexicanum: Navigator).

What to keep in mind about choices and version differences

  • The quest’s broad structure is clear in the guides: Eurac V, Felek, the control rod and elevator repairs, a laboratory puzzle, and Cassia’s rescue.
  • The precise laboratory recipe and the effects behind the two reported rewards are not fully established here for every game version.
  • The available coverage does not verify the long-term consequences of siding with Felek. Avoid treating an incomplete guide as a definitive campaign-outcome chart.
