Those are figures reproduced from a presentation that was later removed—not a new formal Sega Sammy announcement or an audited sales report.
What Sega Sammy reportedly exposed
On June 22, 2025, VGC reported that a table of game sales had appeared in a slide within a Sega Sammy presentation uploaded to the company’s investor-relations site. The presentation was later removed, but the figures had been archived and reproduced in VGC’s report. The table listed 11 games and their reported sales totals. VGC’s June 22, 2025 report

How the reported totals compare with earlier official figures
Sega Sammy’s FY2023/3 investor presentation gave earlier worldwide snapshots as of the end of March 2023: more than 3.2 million units for Sonic Frontiers and more than 1.7 million for Persona 5 Royal (Remaster). These are official company figures, but their date and scope matter: the Persona number explicitly refers to the remaster, while the later reported table says Persona 5 Royal including the remaster version. The figures should not be treated as identical measures. SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS, FY2023/3 investor presentation
The company’s FY2023/3 Summer SS Report likewise said Sonic Frontiers had sold over 3.2 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2023. It described the game’s November 2022 worldwide launch and discussed a planned free update at that time; those plans are historical statements, not a description of the game’s current update status. The CEO section also said Sonic Frontiers and Persona 5 Royal performed well in the consumer business. SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS, FY2023/3 Summer SS Report

Fiscal-year breakdowns reported for the two top entries
Nintendo Everything reproduced fiscal-year figures attributed to the removed table. They show the reported totals accumulating across years, but remain a news outlet’s reproduction rather than an independently checked company disclosure. Nintendo Everything’s reproduction of the reported table

| Sonic Frontiers | FY2023: 3.2 million FY2024: 760,000 FY2025: 610,000 |

These breakdowns are useful for understanding how the reported totals were distributed, but they do not establish why sales rose or whether the same counting rules were used across every title.

Why aren’t newer games such as Metaphor: ReFantazio listed?
The 11-game table is not a complete Sega Sammy sales catalogue. TechTimes noted that Metaphor: ReFantazio and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii do not appear. It relayed release timing as a possible explanation, but no confirmed reason for their absence is established in the reporting. TechTimes coverage of the omissions

What the numbers do—and do not—tell you
- They give a reported unit-total comparison among the 11 games shown, with Persona 5 Royal highest on this list.
- They do not reveal revenue, profit, platform-by-platform performance, unique players, or physical and digital sales splits.
- The older official snapshots are dated March 2023 figures with stated scopes; they should remain distinct from the later totals reproduced by news outlets.
- The presentation’s removal means readers are relying on secondary reporting for the detailed table rather than a currently available Sega Sammy document.
