Is it a soulslike or a roguelike?
The developers position it as both. The soulslike side is the tactical third-person combat and challenging enemies; the roguelike side comes through run variation, build choices and systems that alter or intensify runs. The listing also describes the levels as handcrafted, so its stated approach is not simply a series of procedurally generated maps.
Who made Serpent’s Gaze?
Steam lists Feeble Minds as both developer and publisher. Launch coverage from Gematsu and GamesBeat connects the studio’s founders to Coffee Stain: GamesBeat identifies Oscar Jilsén and Mikael Mård as Coffee Stain co-founders. Is Serpent’s Gaze still in Early Access?
Yes. Steam labels the game Early Access and gives May 25, 2026 as its Early Access release date. The developers estimate that it will remain in Early Access for one to two years, but that is an estimate rather than a committed full-release date.
What the developers say is in the current version
The Steam description says the current version includes two factions, eight levels, roughly a hundred upgrades, and multiple weapons and classes. These are developer-provided content counts and may change as development continues; they are not an independent audit.

How the developers plan to gather feedback
The developers say they will primarily collect feedback through Steam forums and their Discord channel. A Steam Community update dated September 2026 announced perfect block and randomized paths; check the Steam Community news feed for later changes, since updates can make specific build details outdated.
