For Shadow of the Tomb Raider collectibles, work region by region: use the game’s reveal items to uncover map markers, then check annotated maps for anything left. Collectibles are not missable, according to PowerPyx, so you can return in post-story free roam rather than trying to clear every area on the first visit.
How to use the in-game reveal items
Two map items make a first pass easier. PowerPyx says Archivist Maps reveal relics, murals, documents, and monoliths; Explorer Backpacks reveal crypts, treasure chests, and survival caches. These items help you locate collectibles, but they are not required for 100% completion, according to its collectible locations guide.

They do not cover every activity listed on an area map. Use the region map to check other categories such as tombs, challenges, and side missions, and compare its markers with your in-game map and completion counters.

Clear the game region by region
- Make a first pass. Pick up Archivist Maps and Explorer Backpacks you encounter, then check the region map for the categories each item reveals.
- Check the region’s counters. Compare what remains on the in-game map or completion screen with the relevant annotated area map. Do not assume a collectible reveal item covers tombs, challenges, or side missions.
- Follow the relevant map. Use the map’s pins to locate missing items and activities. For route-specific directions, open that region’s guide rather than relying on a general overview.
- Repeat after the story if needed. PowerPyx says collectibles are not missable and can be gathered in post-story free roam, making cleanup a viable alternative to exhaustive exploration during the campaign.
Hidden City: a dense checklist example
The Hidden City shows why a regional checklist helps. PowerPyx’s 2018 map page lists 42 documents, 28 relics, 23 murals, and 34 survival caches for the area. The same page lists 11 camps, 3 tombs, 11 side missions, 6 challenges, 3 treasure chests, 5 crypts, and 7 monoliths. These are counts reported by that guide for its Hidden City map, not independently verified game-wide totals. Use its map page to check the area’s markers.
