Meeting every row means your PC matches the published floor; it is not a measured performance guarantee. The developer has not published a recommended GPU or CPU, a target frame rate, a tested resolution, an upscaling recommendation or a benchmark for any preset.
How to check whether your PC qualifies
1. Confirm Windows and system type
- Open Settings and choose System > About.
- Check Windows specifications and confirm that your edition is supported by the Steam client you use. Although the game listing says Windows 7 minimum, Steam’s client note makes a current Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation the sensible starting point.
- In Device specifications, check System type. It should report a 64-bit operating system and processor.
2. Check the CPU’s SSE2 capability
The requirement names SSE2 but does not provide a model list. Most 64-bit desktop and laptop processors in active use support SSE2. To verify a borderline or very old system, run dxdiag from the Windows search box and note the processor model on the System tab, then consult that processor’s manufacturer specifications for SSE2 support. Do not infer eligibility from clock speed alone.
3. Check installed memory
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Performance > Memory.
- Confirm that installed RAM is at least 4 GB. Close browsers, launchers and overlays before testing if your machine has little memory beyond that minimum.
4. Identify the graphics processor
- In Task Manager, open Performance > GPU, or run
dxdiagand open the Display tab. - Compare the reported model with the named minimum, Nvidia GTX 750 Ti.
- If the machine reports only integrated graphics, or a discrete card below that named floor, treat the result as unconfirmed. The listing does not provide an equivalent integrated or AMD specification.
5. Verify DirectX and free space
Run dxdiag and check the DirectX version shown on the System tab, then review the Display tab for driver errors. In File Explorer, right-click the drive used for your Steam library and choose Properties; leave at least 200 MB free, plus practical headroom for Steam’s temporary files and future updates.

What the minimum does—and does not—say about performance
A minimum specification is a compatibility gate. It indicates the configuration the developer chose as a starting point, not the settings at which the demo was measured. For Shadow Rush, no authoritative page currently supplies a recommended tier, an FPS target, a resolution test, a graphics-preset table or a frame-time comparison.
Consequently, it would be inaccurate to promise 1080p, 60 frames per second or even a particular preset for a GTX 750 Ti. A newer GPU may run the demo more comfortably, but the available listing does not quantify how much faster it is. CPU model, laptop power limits, driver version, background tasks and display resolution can all change the result.
How to tune the demo on your own hardware
Use the demo as a short, repeatable test rather than assuming the minimum equals a performance profile. The exact option names available in your build are not documented in the published requirements, so apply only controls the game actually shows.

Establish a baseline
- Update your graphics driver through the GPU manufacturer’s normal support channel and reboot.
- Launch the demo with background recording, browser tabs and unnecessary overlays closed.
- Choose your monitor’s native resolution first and play the same busy arena or combat sequence for several minutes.
- Observe whether the problem is a consistently low frame rate, brief stutter, long loading pauses or input delay. These symptoms point to different causes.
Change one setting at a time
- If the menu offers a resolution scale or upscaler, reduce it in small steps before lowering every quality option. This usually trades image sharpness for GPU workload, but the demo’s implementation and quality modes are not documented.
- If separate options for shadows, effects, lighting or particles appear, lower the most expensive-looking option first and retest the same scene.
- If a frame-rate cap or vertical synchronization option exists, use a cap your system can hold consistently rather than chasing a fluctuating peak.
- Keep a note of each change. Returning to the last stable combination is faster than changing several controls at once.
Interpret common symptoms
- Low performance all the time: lower resolution or the heaviest available effects, then check that the game is using the discrete GPU on a laptop.
- Stutters during new effects or areas: allow shader compilation to finish, close disk-heavy applications and leave more free space than the 200 MB minimum.
- Input feels delayed: test with overlays and recording disabled, then compare uncapped and capped frame-rate modes if those controls are available.
- Crashes or missing rendering: reinstall or update the graphics driver, verify the demo’s files in Steam and confirm that the hardware meets the 64-bit, SSE2, DirectX 9 and GTX 750 Ti requirements.
These are troubleshooting methods, not published Shadow Rush benchmark results. Record your own resolution, settings and observed behavior if you need a repeatable comparison after an update.

Steam lists full Xbox controller support and full PlayStation controller support. The listing does not name a required controller model. The default mouse-and-keyboard scheme is WASD for movement, left-click for attack and right-click for dash; the four-phase attack and dash cycle activates equipped abilities during a run.
Because the combat system relies on timing and rapid movement, test whichever input method you prefer in an early arena before committing to a build. Full platform support on Steam describes compatibility, not a promise that every third-party remapping layer or wireless adapter behaves identically.

Does Shadow Rush Demo run on Steam Deck?
Not officially confirmed. Steam currently marks the demo’s Steam Deck compatibility as Unknown, and SteamDB lists Windows as the supported system. That is different from a Verified, Playable or Unsupported rating.
What you can conclude
- The published requirements are for Windows and do not include a SteamOS, Proton or handheld performance profile.
- No official Deck resolution, refresh-rate cap, wattage setting, control layout or battery estimate has been published.
- A Windows requirement and a Windows-only platform entry do not establish that the demo will launch or perform acceptably under Proton.
If you own a Deck
You can install the free demo and treat the first launch as an experiment, but keep expectations conditional. Test in a combat-heavy section, watch for rendering or controller issues and adjust only the options exposed by the game. If it fails to launch, produces severe graphical errors or is not playable at a stable frame rate, that is an unresolved compatibility result—not evidence that every Deck configuration behaves the same way.

What to expect from the full game timeline
The demo is an early look at a project still in development. The full game is planned for 2027. In a report dated October 16, 2026, solo developer Andrew Teo gave April 16, 2027 as a comfortable completion estimate. That is a developer estimate, not a guaranteed release date, and future builds could change requirements or performance.

Install Shadow Rush Demo if your Windows PC meets the listed 64-bit/SSE2 CPU, 4 GB RAM, GTX 750 Ti, DirectX 9 and 200 MB storage floor, while remembering that Windows 10 or 11 is the practical Steam-client baseline.
