For most Nahobino builds in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the best first investment is the stat that supports your main damage plan: Strength for physical attacks or Magic for magic attacks. Add Vitality when survival is a problem. Treat Agility and Luck as situational choices, not mandatory priorities.

There is no single stat sequence that suits every build. Your skills, the enemies you face, and the role you want the Nahobino to play all matter.

What each stat does

Stat What it affects When to invest
Strength Normal attack and physical skill damage. When physical attacks and Strength-scaling skills are your main offense. Game8’s Japanese guide says many Nahobino unique skills scale with Strength.
Magic Magic attack damage and maximum MP. When your planned offense relies on magic skills and you can support their MP costs.
Vitality Maximum HP; some physical skills also scale with maximum HP. When the Nahobino is struggling to survive or you are building around HP-scaling physical skills.
Agility Accuracy, evasion, and escape odds. When misses, incoming attacks, or escape attempts are a recurring concern. In Vengeance, it does not determine turn order.
Luck Chance-based outcomes, including ailments, post-battle item drops, and critical hits. As a situational investment; the cited guides do not establish it as a default early priority.

These effects are described in the SAMURAI GAMERS Vengeance stats guide. Exact formulas and stat caps are not established by the cited sources.

Strength or Magic: choose by your skills

Pick the offensive stat that matches the attacks you intend to use, rather than splitting points evenly by default. Strength supports normal attacks and physical skills; Magic supports magic damage and increases maximum MP. Look at the Nahobino’s planned skills and affinities, then consider whether your party can cover the enemy weaknesses those skills do not.

  • Explore a Post-Apocalyptic World: Battle through a decimated Tokyo, reduced to an expansive wasteland and overrun by mythical demons. Roam across wide, open areas and explore new locations for life-saving items or encounter hundreds of familiar demons and dozens of new ones to battle or befriend as allies.

That coverage matters because Press Turn combat rewards weakness exploitation: SEGA’s official system description says targeting an enemy’s weaknesses grants extra actions. A focused offensive plan can therefore work alongside demons who provide other elements or utility, rather than requiring the Nahobino to do everything.

Game8’s Japanese-language guide, last updated November 20, 2025, recommends specializing in Strength or Magic according to attack style, then favors Strength later because many Nahobino unique skills scale with it. That is a reason to consider Strength for a build centered on those skills, not proof that every character should follow the same allocation.

When to add Vitality, Agility, or Luck

Invest in Vitality when staying alive is the problem

Vitality increases maximum HP, giving the Nahobino more room to withstand damage. It also matters for physical skills whose damage is determined by maximum HP. If you are repeatedly losing the Nahobino before your offense can contribute, Vitality is a practical adjustment; it is not a substitute for choosing an offensive plan.

Use Agility for accuracy, evasion, or escape—not turn order

Agility affects accuracy, evasion, and the chance of escaping. The Vengeance-specific stats guide explicitly says turn order follows party arrangement, so do not invest in Agility expecting the Nahobino to act earlier. Guides differ on how much early Agility is worthwhile: Prima Games recommends it alongside Strength and Vitality, while its value in your build depends on whether its effects address a real need.

Keep Luck situational

Luck can influence several chance-based outcomes, including ailments, item drops after battles, and critical hits. Those effects may be useful, but the cited sources do not identify Luck as a necessary first investment for a general build.

Why recommendations differ

Guides are answering slightly different questions. Prima Games’ June 2024 advice emphasizes Strength, Agility, and Vitality early, with Magic builds as an alternative. SAMURAI GAMERS gives Agility a high general priority for its accuracy, evasion, and escape effects, while clarifying that it does not control turn order in Vengeance. Game8’s later Japanese guide focuses on matching Strength or Magic to the chosen attack style and discusses Strength’s relevance to many unique skills later on.

These are compatible as conditional advice, not as one universal stat recipe: choose an offensive stat for your skills, then use defensive or utility stats to address the problems you actually encounter. The cited guides do not establish an optimal numerical split or guaranteed leveling sequence.

A practical way to decide where the next point goes

  1. Choose your main attack style. Use Strength for a physical-focused Nahobino or Magic for a magic-focused one.
  2. Check your skill plan. Favor the stat that supports the skills you expect to use, including whether your intended unique skills scale with Strength.
  3. Watch combat outcomes. Add Vitality if the Nahobino is too fragile; consider Agility if accuracy, evasion, or escape is the issue.
  4. Let party coverage shape the plan. Use demons and skills to exploit enemy weaknesses and cover gaps in your Nahobino’s offense.
  5. Reassess as your build changes. An investment that made sense for an earlier set of skills may not suit a later one.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is an expanded version of Shin Megami Tensei V, with a new storyline, locations, demons, and choices, according to ATLUS’s product page. The stat advice here is specific to Vengeance, rather than a claim about every game in the series.
