In Shindo Life, start at the main menu and open Edit to customize your character or manage Elements and Bloodlines. Appearance edits change how your character looks; Elements and Bloodlines change your combat options. Spins are chance-based, so check the selected slot before rerolling and do not treat a rarity denominator as a guaranteed number of attempts.
Where to customize your character
Open the main menu and choose Edit or the customization option shown in the live game. Community documentation describes Edit as the place for appearance changes and for accessing Element and Bloodline spins. Menu labels and layout can change between updates, so follow the current in-game labels if they differ.
A 2022 tutorial also covers Edit mode, character appearance, coats and accessories, and Element and Bloodline abilities, but its age means it should not be treated as a current map of the interface: Cederic Schmid’s tutorial.
How to change your character’s appearance and colors
Use the appearance options in Edit to adjust the available character features, clothing, coats, and accessories. Select an item or feature, then use its available controls to preview or apply the change. Color controls are not confirmed for every item, and the exact options may vary, so check the live menu rather than assuming every outfit or accessory can be recolored.

These edits are visual: changing a face, outfit, accessory, or supported color does not itself change your combat abilities. The community wiki describes the Edit menu as the route for appearance changes; a secondary guide likewise distinguishes cosmetic choices from gameplay setup.
How Elements and Bloodlines differ from appearance edits
Elements and Bloodlines are gameplay choices, not cosmetic settings. Elements provide elemental abilities, while Bloodlines provide their own abilities and may include modes. Both use slots and may involve spins to obtain a different result. The community-maintained Shindo Life Wiki’s game mechanics page describes access through Edit and warns that listed rarity denominators do not guarantee an outcome after that many spins.

How to roll or change an Element or Bloodline
- Open the main menu and enter Edit. Find the Element or Bloodline section in the current interface.
- Inspect the slots before spending spins. Make sure the slot selected is the one you intend to reroll and that you are willing to replace its current result.
- Use a spin to roll for a result. A spin is chance-based; it does not guarantee a particular Element or Bloodline.
- Review the result and keep or reroll it. Before another spin, check the selected slot again so you do not overwrite a result or ability you want to retain.
- Progress the ability after equipping it. Bloodline abilities and modes can be progression-gated, and rolled options may need leveling or individual unlocks before they are usable.
The community wiki explains that a listed rarity such as 1/200 is not a promise that the item will appear within 200 spins. It describes a chance per roll, not a guaranteed countdown. See its game mechanics explanation and check the live game for current rates.
Bloodline slots and optional unlocks
Community documentation describes Bloodlines as slot-based and says optional additional slots may be available through gamepasses. The exact number of slots, availability, and price can change; verify those details in the game before making a purchase. The community pages covering Bloodlines and gamepasses are useful references, not official RELL Games documentation.

How to choose what to change
- Want a different look? Stay with appearance controls and check whether the specific clothing or accessory supports color changes.
- Want different combat options? Review the Element or Bloodline slots and their unlock progression rather than changing cosmetic settings.
- Want to try a new roll? Consider whether the possible replacement is worth the chance of losing the current slot result; do not assume a rarity denominator guarantees success.
- Considering more slots? Confirm the current in-game unlock options and prices before spending currency.
