When should you play Bloody Ties?
Bloody Ties is the first story DLC for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Techland announced it as an expansion centered on Carnage Hall, with quests, new weapon types, character interactions, and discoveries. Techland’s announcement identifies the DLC and its setting.

In an April 28, 2022 interview, Techland lead designer Tymon Smektała said the expansion “runs parallel to the main story” and can be started after Aiden arrives in the City. He added that Techland did not want players to have to finish the game before enjoying the expansion. Wccftech’s interview with Smektała is the source for that story-placement guidance.
Choose based on how you want the campaign to flow

What the available guidance does—and does not—confirm
The City-arrival milestone is broad guidance from an interview published before the DLC’s release, not a current mission-by-mission unlock checklist. Techland’s announcement does not provide a full prerequisite list. These sources also do not establish how campaign choices affect Bloody Ties, or make claims about spoilers or difficulty scaling. Don’t treat any particular mission gate or choice outcome as confirmed by this guidance.
