What is Sign: Broken Kether about?
Steam describes Sign as a visual-novel series blending fantasy, urban life and adventure. In the detailed synopsis for Sign: Broken Kether, high-school girl Tian Qin encounters Cygnus, a witch from another world who has lost her powers and remembers only fragments of her past. Cygnus hopes Tian Qin can help her recover her abilities.
Their story unfolds in Longhua, where an enormous tree appears overnight in Central Park and draws visitors to the city. The witch’s arrival and the mysterious tree unsettle ordinary life. Steam’s short introduction instead names the high-school girl Lyra; its detailed synopsis and character entries call her Tian Qin, so the storefront contains an unresolved name inconsistency.
Is it a standalone story or part of a series?
Nekonoke describes Sign as an episodic series and this game as its first chapter. The series description uses the chapter title “Sign: Shattered Crown,” while the storefront’s displayed game title is Sign: Broken Kether. Nekonoke describes itself as a small indie team whose members are based in different parts of the world, and calls this its first title.

The Windows 7 figure is the game’s listed minimum, not a guarantee that the current Steam client supports that operating system. Steam says its client has supported only Windows 10 or later since 1 January 2024.
Content warning
The developer-provided Steam notice flags cartoon or fantasy violence, blood, murder and killing, bodily injury, corpses, descriptions of violence, self-harm depictions, fear, mild swearing, censored nudity, and alcohol or tobacco use. Steam says violence, murder scenes, self-harm and dark themes occur in the narrative: some important moments use direct, stylized visual representations, while other violence is described in text.

Release status
Steam currently lists 9 October 2026 as the planned release date. SteamDB’s app page shows conflicting “To be announced” release metadata, so that record does not establish a different launch date. Check the Steam storefront for the current status as the scheduled date approaches.
