That indexed snapshot conflicts with the later Reddit report and does not establish whether the September event occurred or what it involved. The exact field, file, or record supposedly changed is not verified.
Does the update mean Sea of Sorrow is imminent?
There is no confirmed link between the reported SteamDB activity and Sea of Sorrow. Team Cherry’s official announcement says the free expansion is coming in 2026 and that further details will arrive shortly before release. It gives no specific date. SteamDB activity by itself is not an official Team Cherry announcement, so it cannot establish that news or a launch is imminent.

Why an unexplained SteamDB change is not a release signal
A database change can prompt guesses, but the available sources do not identify the September change or its cause. Steam lists Silksong as a released single-player game, with a release date of September 4, 2025. The game’s backend activity is therefore not evidence that the game itself is still awaiting release. For expansion timing or other official details, rely on announcements from Team Cherry rather than interpretations of an unexplained database change. Team Cherry’s official Steam catalog also lists the official Silksong soundtrack; it does not provide confirmation about the reported update.
