Lugoli drops the ingredient; Pale Oil is a separate reward for completing the full wish.
Where to find Pickled Muckmaggot
Look for Disgraced Chef Lugoli in Sinner’s Road. The area’s entrance is above the Halfway House in Greymoor, according to PC Gamer’s Great Taste of Pharloom guide. The sources establish Sinner’s Road and the route’s landmarks, but do not provide a verified coordinate grid or standalone item map; use the in-game map and the landmarks below rather than relying on invented coordinates.
Requirements and route to Lugoli
What you need
- Faydown Cloak: This ability grants Double Jump and is required to reach the arena. The route to Mount Fay goes through The Slab, which is accessible from the left side of Choral Chambers, as described by PC Gamer.
- Access to Sinner’s Road: The arena route begins at the area’s bench.
From the Sinner’s Road bench
- From the bench, head right into the large room with maggots along the floor, hanging cages, and spike wheels.
- Continue to the far end of the room, then use Faydown Cloak to double-jump up into Lugoli’s arena.
- Strike the dinner gong to start the encounter. Nintendo Life’s quest guide reports that two Roachservers appear before Lugoli.
Nearby room landmarks are described differently across the walkthroughs, so the bench-to-arena route and its visible obstacles provide the clearest orientation.
How to get the Pickled Muckmaggot
Defeat Disgraced Chef Lugoli; he drops the Pickled Muckmaggot upon defeat. PC Gamer advises avoiding his fired muckmaggot projectiles and jumping to pogo-attack during his sideways attack. That is the guide’s suggested approach, not a required weapon or ability.

What to do with Pickled Muckmaggot
Take the ingredient to Loyal Mergwin in Choral Chambers. It is one of the five ingredients required for the Great Taste of Pharloom Wish. Nintendo Life lists the complete set:
- Pickled Muckmaggot
- Mossberry Stew
- Vintage Nectar
- Courier’s Rasher
- Crustnut
Rewards: Lugoli’s drop versus the wish reward
The Pickled Muckmaggot is Lugoli’s direct drop, not the reward for finishing the wish. Once all five ingredients have been delivered and Mergwin prepares the dish, PC Gamer says Pale Oil can be collected from the container to the right. If that Pale Oil is used for the player’s second needle upgrade, the guide says it also costs 500 Rosaries.
