What “making money” means in skate.
In this game, “money” means virtual currency or rewards—not real-world income. The currencies and rewards serve different purposes:

- Tix: Seasonal progression currency used to unlock skate.Pass items. Earn it through activities; EA also says SVB can be exchanged for Tix.
- San Van Bucks (SVB): Optional premium currency used for premium cosmetics and pass content. It can be purchased and may also be included as a pass reward.
- skate.Points: Loyalty points associated with qualifying skate.Shop purchases. They are not earned by playing or skating in-game.
EA describes progression cosmetics and premium cosmetics as separate routes: “In skate., you’ll be able to unlock cosmetic items through progression, and you can also snag some premium cosmetic items via the optional premium currency known as San Van Bucks.” EA’s official skate. FAQ
How to earn Tix for free cosmetics
Earn Tix from the season’s available activities, then exchange them for items on the skate.Pass track. EA lists these Season 5 sources:

- Seasonal challenges
EA also lists daily grants for Premium holders; that is a paid-track benefit, not a free earning method. Activity availability can change between seasons. The cited EA pages do not establish a guaranteed completion time or number of hours needed to earn a particular reward.

These are EA’s Season 5 figures, not permanent values for every season. The 1,500 SVB maximum is tied to completing that season’s Premium Pass; it is not a guaranteed reward for Standard-track players. Check the current in-game pass or EA’s skate.Pass page for current-season details.
When paying is optional—and what it adds
You can use the Standard track without buying SVB. Premium and Premium+ are paid routes to additional content, while SVB can also be exchanged for Tix. EA’s official store sells SVB bundles and season add-ons, including the Premium Pass; bundle prices and offers vary by region and can change.

skate.Points belong to a separate rewards program tied to qualifying purchases at skate.Shop—not to gameplay or purchases in the game or EA App. EA’s rules say points reset at the start of each season, rewards must be claimed before that season ends, and a maximum of 400 points can be exchanged in a season. How to decide which route to use
- Want cosmetics without spending? Use the Standard track and earn Tix from available season activities.
- Want access to extra pass rewards? Compare the live Premium options and their SVB prices before buying.
- Considering a web-store purchase? Check the current regional offer and its terms; a web bonus is not guaranteed to remain available.
- Looking at skate.Points? Treat them as purchase-linked loyalty rewards with seasonal deadlines, not as a way to earn currency by playing.
skate. entered Early Access on September 16, 2025. EA describes it as free-to-play and always online; its FAQ lists PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The FAQ described mobile as planned for later, so consult EA for current platform availability. EA also describes the game as an evolving online sandbox, which is why pass rewards and offers should be treated as season-specific rather than permanent.
