Skydance’s Behemoth is a dark-fantasy action-adventure built around close-quarters combat and battles with towering creatures. You play Wren, a hunter sent into the cursed Forsaken Lands to seek a cure for the rot afflicting him and his village. On PS5, the game requires PlayStation VR2 and its Sense controllers.
What is Skydance’s Behemoth about?
Wren has been banished to the Forsaken Lands, where he must confront the rot curse spreading through him and his village. The journey leads him against marauders and Behemoths, immense creatures presented as gods that he must slay. The premise and setting are described by Skydance Interactive and the PlayStation Store.
How does the VR combat work?
Skydance describes the game as weighty VR combat built around physical-feeling interactions and encounters with enormous Behemoths. PlayStation’s store listing names swords, daggers and axes, as well as fighting bare-handed. These are publisher descriptions of the intended experience, not independent performance findings.
The scale is central to the premise: ordinary enemies and weapons lead into confrontations with creatures far larger than Wren. In a May 30, 2024 PlayStation Blog post, Skydance Interactive vice president of creative Shawn Kittelsen wrote, “We believed there was an experience of grand scale that only VR could achieve.”

What do you need to play on PS5?
The PS5 edition requires a PlayStation VR2 headset and PS VR2 Sense controllers; it is not a standard-screen PS5 game. The PlayStation listing supports sitting, standing and room-scale play. Room-scale VR requires a minimum play area of 2 m × 2 m, according to that listing.
When did it release, and what does it cost?
The PlayStation Store lists December 5, 2024 as the PS5 release date and displayed a US price of $39.99 when its listing was checked for this article. Store prices can change, and that US figure does not establish the price in other regions.

Is there a physical PS5 edition?
A retail announcement specified a physical edition for North America, Europe and Australia, with a February 6, 2025 release date. It does not establish whether copies are currently in stock. If buying a disc, check that the listing is the PS5 edition and that you have the required PS VR2 hardware. The announcement attributed this statement to Skydance Games senior vice president of business development Jenna Seiden: “We know that many of our players enjoy having a physical release for their favorite games, and we’re happy to work with partners like Maximum Entertainment to bring Skydance’s BEHEMOTH to our players in North America, Europe and Australia.”
The game’s official site also presents a graphic-novel prequel, but the available information does not establish its current retailer or physical format.

What about Quest and PC VR?
The official site presents platform purchase options, but the information available here does not provide a detailed, current comparison of Quest and PC VR compatibility or features.
