Full-game spoilers follow, including discussion of the final choice and route outcomes. There is no official ranking or canonical count of every ending variation in Slay the Princess. This is an editorial ranking of the game’s major full-game conclusions in The Pristine Cut, not a numbered inventory of every route scene or vessel variation. It weighs emotional payoff, thematic closure, how strongly prior choices shape the outcome, and whether the ending feels earned. On those terms, the most satisfying conclusion is the one that makes the player reckon with the relationship they have built—not simply escape it.
What counts as an ending here?
The Pristine Cut is the expanded edition of Slay the Princess. Black Tabby Games describes it as adding three chapters and a new ending, alongside a progress gallery and substantial additional art and dialogue. Those are the developer’s published figures, not independent measurements. The update expands The Den, The Apotheosis, and The Fury, each of which the developer says more than doubled in length. The upgrade is free for owners of the base edition, according to the developer’s game page.
The game branches according to what the player says and believes, and its route outcomes include variations as well as conclusions to the larger story. Since official materials do not define a definitive total of distinct endings, counting every branch, scene variant, vessel, and finale as an equal “ending” would be misleading. This ranking instead compares the major full-game outcomes. A community-maintained route flowchart can help map paths, but it is fan-authored and records its own corrections; it is not an official tally or ranking.
Every major ending ranked
1. Leave together
Best for: emotional payoff and a conclusion shaped by the relationship.

- Standard Edition includes: Full Physical Game, Stickers Sheet and downloadable OST.
- 3 new chapters full of mysteries... and consequences.
- Princesses, expansions, a new ending and extended duration: 35% more content in total.
- Cherish your memories, relive your exploits, and discover more secrets in the new gallery.
- More than 1,200 new hand-drawn stills by illustrator Abby Howard. More than 2,500 new lines of dialogue dubbed by Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.
The strongest conclusion is the one in which the Princess and the player’s accumulated history matter to the final decision. Its appeal is not that it offers an uncomplicated happy ending; it makes the relationship itself the point of the choice. The journey’s changing perspectives and repeated encounters give the decision weight, so the outcome feels connected to the player’s path rather than interchangeable with a generic escape.
Trade-off: its ambiguity is part of the effect. Players who want every mystery neatly explained may find the ending less conclusive than a straightforward resolution.
2. Stay in the cabin
Best for: thematic closure through refusal.
Choosing to remain with the Princess turns the game’s central premise back on itself: the cabin is no longer just a place to escape, and the player declines the apparent demand to move on. It is powerful because it treats acceptance as a consequential decision rather than a failure to reach a more elaborate finale.
Trade-off: its intimacy comes at the cost of scope. Compared with a conclusion that reckons with a wider history of routes, this choice can feel deliberately contained.

3. Refuse the final choice
Best for: players who want to challenge the story’s governing rules.
Rejecting the offered resolution makes the act of choosing—and the assumptions behind it—the subject of the ending. That gives the refusal real thematic force: instead of selecting one of the expected outcomes, the player questions the framework that made those outcomes seem inevitable.
Trade-off: resistance can be less emotionally satisfying than a conclusion that directly resolves the relationship. Its impact depends on whether questioning the premise feels like closure to you.
4. Take the escape route
Best for: a decisive break from the cycle.
Leaving offers a clean, legible answer to the immediate danger and can feel like a hard-won act of self-preservation. It is a meaningful counterpoint to endings that prioritize the relationship: the player can decide that survival and separation matter more than reconciliation.

Trade-off: the cleaner the escape, the less it engages with the emotional and philosophical complications built up across the routes. It resolves the immediate predicament more clearly than it resolves what the journey has meant.
5. The added Pristine Cut conclusion
Best for: players seeking another route through the game’s expanded possibilities.
The Pristine Cut adds a new ending, and the community flowchart notes that certain “harsh” vessels are required to reach it. That makes it a notable addition for players exploring the game’s branching structure rather than a universal upgrade to the original conclusions. The route’s value lies in how it extends the available outcomes and gives route choices further consequence.
Trade-off: its status as a new route does not automatically make it the most satisfying finale. The emotional result depends on how its path and final turn land for you, and it should not be treated as the single definitive ending simply because it was added in the expanded edition.

How to read the ranking
The order is an editorial judgment, not a measure of popularity or an official developer ranking. It prioritizes emotional payoff and thematic closure, then asks whether the outcome reflects previous decisions and feels earned. Players who value escape, defiance, or a more unsettling resolution over relationship-focused closure may reasonably reorder the list.
These entries compare broad full-game outcomes, not every Princess form, route scene, or dialogue variation. The community flowchart is useful for tracing routes, but its fan-maintained status and correction history are reasons to treat it as a navigation aid rather than a definitive authority on the number of endings.
