Which Breathing Styles are currently documented in Slayers 2?
Recent community coverage lists eight Slayer-side styles: Water, Flame, Thunder, Wind, Sound, Insect, Stone, and Serpent. Serpent and Snake are two names for the same style, not separate choices. The September 20, 2026 roster page identifies itself as an independent fan wiki, so treat this as the best-supported current community roster rather than official patch documentation. How to choose a style
Start with the activity you play most. A style that is strong against groups or routine PvE encounters may not be the best fit for a PvP duel, where range, guard pressure, mobility, and the ability to convert an opening matter more. How to think about combos without relying on unverified strings
Exact optimal combo strings for all eight styles are not established in the current cited material. Rather than copy button sequences that may be outdated or invented, think about a combo by the job each action performs:
- Opener: Creates a hit or forces a response, often by starting pressure or closing distance.
- Extender: Keeps an opening going long enough to add pressure or reposition.
- Finisher: Converts the opening into damage or another useful outcome, such as guard pressure where the kit supports it.
- Escape or reset: Helps disengage or recover when continuing the exchange is no longer favorable.
Those are general combo roles, not confirmed move assignments for every style. Check the live move descriptions and current gameplay footage before treating a particular sequence as reliable; patch changes can affect both damage and whether a follow-up connects.

So, is Wind the best style right now?
Wind is the clearest current meta pick in the cited October 6, 2026 community guide: its author calls it the best overall style after reported V0.2 changes, including the Mountain Wind damage increase and hyper armor while holding Whirlwind Cutter. Flame also receives a strong dated ranking in that guide.
