That is a launch-era score for the PS4 edition, not a current score covering every platform.
What critics thought
The PS4 aggregate is classified as “Generally Favorable.” The reviews praise the game’s open-world action, combat and story, while some reservations focus on whether the visual refresh and bundled content justify a second purchase for returning players. At least one review excerpt also notes lingering bugs. Those are differing opinions in selected reviews, not a claim that every critic raised the same concerns.

What the Definitive Edition includes
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition released on October 14, 2014. Metacritic’s product summary says it incorporates all 24 previously available DLC extensions, including the story-extending Year of the Snake and horror-themed Nightmare in North Point. The PlayStation Store describes the PS4 product as reworked, rebuilt and remastered; Steam identifies the game’s Hong Kong open-world setting. Those descriptions do not establish that technical changes were identical across platforms.
Is it worth playing?
For someone new to the game, the favorable critic consensus and inclusion of the earlier DLC make the edition a strong candidate if its open-world action appeals to them. For someone who already owns or played the original, the decision is less clear-cut: the reviews’ reservations about the visual changes, bugs and repurchase value are relevant, even though critics generally praised the underlying game.
The score records reception around the 2014 release. It does not establish today’s price, availability, compatibility or value on a particular platform. If comparing critic reception between editions or platforms, use the same aggregator and check the platform-specific score, review count, dates and sentiment breakdown; the PS4 figures here do not prove platform parity.
