How Slither.io works
Slither.io is an online game available through the official website and as a mobile app. The Google Play listing describes online play against other people. Your practical aim is to collect pellets and stay alive while steering around other snakes.

Desktop
The guide describes steering by moving the mouse cursor and boosting with a click. Keep your movements measured: abrupt changes can make it harder to keep a safe path around nearby snakes.

Mobile
The guide describes three control schemes:
- Classic: the snake follows your finger.
- Joystick: steer with a virtual joystick and use a separate boost control.

How to grow without taking unnecessary risks
Collect pellets while preserving room to turn
Prioritize ordinary pellets and keep enough space around your snake to change direction. A route that leaves an escape path is generally more forgiving than one that takes you into a crowded knot of snakes.

Treat a defeated snake’s remains as contested
A concentration of food can be tempting, but it may also attract other players. Approach only if you have room to retreat or redirect; there is no guaranteed safe route to those pellets.
Be cautious about forcing close encounters
The GameFAQs guide advises that turning becomes less effective at greater length. Treat that as a tactical consideration, not a precise or officially guaranteed mechanic: a longer run may make tight maneuvers feel riskier, so avoid aggression that leaves no room to recover.

How to boost without wasting mass
The cited guide says boosting consumes mass. Use it for a clear purpose—such as changing position quickly or escaping immediate danger—instead of holding it continuously while trying to grow.
- Before boosting: identify where the burst should take you and what direction you can safely turn afterward.
- Use a brief burst: release once you have repositioned or cleared the immediate threat.
- Skip the boost: if it would send you into a crowd or leave you with no safe direction to go.

Are Slither.io cheats allowed?
No. The official Terms of Service prohibit unauthorized third-party clients, bots, scripts, plugins, modifications, and tools or services that interact with the game. The terms say violations may lead to suspension or termination of access.
Use “cheats” to mean legal tactics—such as patient pellet collection, careful positioning, and deliberate boosts—not software that automates or changes play. This guide does not recommend or direct players to unauthorized tools.

Why do I keep losing?
In a game with other online players, no tactic guarantees a long run. If you are dying often, simplify your decisions: steer smoothly, avoid crowded approaches when you lack an exit, and boost only when you can name the immediate goal. On mobile, try a different control scheme if the current one makes small corrections difficult.
