Then verify the installed files before trying a reinstall. These are troubleshooting checks, not guaranteed fixes; if the crash continues, Rebellion’s guidance is to send support a DxDiag report and any crash dump the game created.
Try these checks in order
Change one thing at a time and test the game again. Note whether the problem occurs at startup, during a mission, or when completing one; that detail can help distinguish a launch issue from a repeatable in-game crash.
1. Restart Windows and relaunch the game
Close the game and restart the PC, then launch Sniper Elite: Resistance again. This is a basic first check, not a Resistance-specific fix promised by Rebellion.
2. Compare your PC with the minimum requirements
Rebellion lists Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i5-9400F or AMD equivalent, 16 GB of memory, a DirectX 12-capable graphics card with 6 GB of dedicated VRAM, and 90 GB of storage. The game requires Windows; Rebellion says it is not supported on Mac Parallels. See Rebellion’s PC minimum requirements.

The Steam listing agrees on the processor class, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, and 6 GB minimum graphics memory, but specifies Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A750, AMD Radeon RX 6600 or equivalent and 95 GB of storage; it describes the minimum target as 1080p at medium graphics settings. Rebellion’s support page says 90 GB, so use the current requirement displayed by your own store or launcher when checking disk space. The figures are not identical across the two listings. 3. Check free storage against your launcher’s requirement
Make sure the drive containing the game has enough free space for the amount shown in your store or launcher. The published figures differ—Rebellion lists 90 GB and Steam lists 95 GB—so do not assume one figure applies to every storefront.

4. Install available game updates
Let your launcher check for updates, then test the game again. Rebellion’s patch notes dated June 17, 2025 say it “Reduced cases where players could encounter a crash when completing a mission.” That dated change addresses some mission-completion crashes; it does not establish that all current crashes are fixed. Read Rebellion’s patch notes.
5. Verify the game files
Use the built-in verification option for the platform where you installed the game. Rebellion says verification checks for missing game files and replaces them. Its instructions cover Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Xbox App; follow the section for your launcher, since the menu names and route differ by platform.

Rebellion’s verification guidance says antivirus software can interfere with file installation and suggests temporarily disabling it during verification if needed. Only do this for the verification process, and restore protection afterward.
6. Reinstall if verification does not help
If the crash persists after file verification, reinstalling is another step in Rebellion’s general PC troubleshooting guidance. Use your launcher’s uninstall and install options. This is a diagnostic step, not a guarantee that reinstalling will stop the crash. Rebellion’s PC troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking requirements and sending DxDiag when the PC meets them.

7. Save a DxDiag report
DxDiag records system information that can help support assess whether your PC meets requirements, whether drivers are current, and whether Windows reports errors. To create the file:
- Search Windows for
dxdiag.exeand open it. - Select Save All Information… and save the resulting text file.
- Attach that file to your support request or email.

8. Send Rebellion the crash details and dump file
For PC versions on Steam or Windows/Xbox App, a crash or failed launch may create a dump file. Check %localappdata%Sniper Elite ResistanceCrash for a relevant .dmp file. If the folder is absent, a dedicated report may not have been created. Rebellion says dump files record PC status at the time of the crash and can be attached in a reply to its support email; they are examined for the cause and deleted when the support case closes. Include the exact error text, the platform, what happened, the mission or map, and what you did just before the problem. Add screenshots or video if available; if you play on Steam, Rebellion’s bug-report guidance also asks for a save file. Send the DxDiag report and any relevant dump with your support request. Use the point where the crash occurs to make your report specific: say whether the game fails on launch, during a particular mission, or at mission completion, and whether verifying files changed anything. Rebellion’s general PC guidance points players whose systems meet the requirements toward DxDiag, file verification, and reinstalling; its crash guidance provides the route for submitting a dump when one exists. None of the listed steps is a universal remedy.
