The fastest reliable way to level Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling: ARISE is to push the main story, complete every available progression objective, and spend materials only on systems and equipment that are currently helping you clear content. Story progress unlocks Craft, Artifacts, Armory, and Cores in that order of practical importance. Use stat points deliberately, maintain a small group of upgraded skills and runes, build artifact sets after Chapter 5 Episode 1, and register every useful exclusive weapon once Armory opens at level 30.
There is no officially published stat split, artifact set, fastest completion time, or universally best weapon tier for every mode. Your choices should follow the stage you are trying to clear: damage for a timed check, survivability when attacks are ending the run, and precision or MP when your build cannot reliably execute its rotation.

What efficient leveling actually means
Jinwoo gains levels by progressing through the game rather than by endlessly farming one early stage. The main story unlocks the systems that create most of your long-term power, so delaying story chapters to over-invest in starter gear usually wastes enhancement materials. Progression objectives should be completed alongside story stages because they provide additional account and character development opportunities.
Think of power growth as a sequence of gates. Before a system is unlocked, save scarce materials instead of trying to compensate with random upgrades. Once a system opens, invest in a few pieces that improve your current team and can remain useful through the next story gate.

Unlock the important systems in the right order
| Milestone | What becomes available | How to use it efficiently |
|---|---|---|
| Jinwoo level 7 | Craft | Craft toward a specific progression need instead of spending resources randomly. |
| Chapter 5 Episode 1 | Artifacts | Start building matching sets and enhance pieces that are equipped or clearly worth keeping. |
| Jinwoo level 30 | Armory | Register owned Sung Jinwoo exclusive weapons so their Total Power contributes to Armory and combat power. |
| Story Chapter 10 on Hard | Cores | Evaluate cores for their random stats and unique stat; invest in the strongest candidates rather than all drops. |
These gates explain why a story-first route is more efficient than spreading materials across every weapon, skill, artifact, and core. Each newly unlocked system offers a larger or more targeted improvement than another small upgrade to an item you may soon replace.
A story-first leveling route
- Clear the main story until the next difficulty or chapter wall. Use your strongest available team and complete progression objectives while they are active. Do not stop story progress merely because a low-level item can receive another enhancement.
- Reach level 7 and open Craft. Craft only toward a known need, such as a useful artifact direction after the relevant content is available. Keep enough materials for the next story-related requirement.
- Continue to Chapter 5 Episode 1. Artifacts become available here. Equip pieces that improve your immediate build, then prioritize matching sets rather than treating every high-looking individual stat as an automatic upgrade.
- Advance toward level 30. At this point, keep leveling Jinwoo and clearing objectives while maintaining a compact group of upgraded skills, runes, and artifacts. Avoid fully upgrading items that are already being replaced.
- Open Armory at level 30. Register every owned exclusive Sung Jinwoo weapon that qualifies for an Armory slot. Registration lets a percentage of each weapon’s Total Power contribute to Armory and therefore to combat and squad formation power.
- Clear Chapter 10 on Hard. Once Cores unlock, compare their stat combinations and unique stat before spending enhancement or limit-break materials.
This route does not promise a fixed number of hours or a single “fastest” run. Stage clear speed depends on your roster, equipment drops, mechanics, and the current balance version.
How to spend Jinwoo’s stat points
Every level-earned point can be invested in Jinwoo’s stats. The five stats have different jobs, so the right allocation depends on what is preventing a clear.
| Stat | Documented effect | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | Increases Jinwoo’s basic attack. | You need straightforward damage and your normal attacks are a major part of the rotation. |
| Vitality | Increases HP and Defense. | You are dying before a stage’s damage check, or defensive play is preventing you from finishing a run. |
| Agility | Increases Critical Hit damage. | Your build already lands critical hits reliably enough for the extra critical damage to matter. |
| Intelligence | Increases MP. | Your skills or rotation run out of MP before the stage ends. |
| Perception | Increases Precision and minimum damage. | Your attacks are inconsistent, or low rolls and insufficient precision are causing failed damage checks. |
A practical allocation method
- Identify the failure condition. If the timer expires while Jinwoo is healthy, begin with damage-oriented choices. If he is defeated, add Vitality before chasing more offense.
- Use Strength for a basic-attack-centered build. It is the clearest direct damage option because its documented effect is increased basic attack.
- Add Intelligence only when MP limits your actual rotation. More MP has little value if your stage ends before you spend it.
- Consider Perception when damage swings are unusually wide or attacks are not connecting with the consistency you need.
- Use Agility after your build can take advantage of critical hits. Critical damage cannot solve a problem if critical hits are too infrequent to influence the run.
There is no official universal percentage split for these stats. Reassess after a major weapon, artifact, skill, or stage change instead of copying an allocation designed for a different account.
Skills and runes: concentrate your damage
Skills are direct damage tools, and Netmarble’s guide confirms that they can be leveled and paired with runes. The efficient beginner approach is to maintain a small number of skills that you actually use rather than distributing every material across the full list.

Choose a compact skill package
- Level the skills that fit your current rotation and reliably hit the stage’s targets.
- Prioritize skills that solve your immediate problem: burst for a damage check, control or safer timing when attacks are interrupting you, and dependable area coverage when groups are slowing progress.
- Do not treat an unused skill as a priority simply because it has an available upgrade. A lower-level skill you cast repeatedly can be more valuable than a higher-level skill that never enters the rotation.
Use runes instead of leaving skill slots empty
Equip runes on the skills you use. Duplicate runes can be fused, giving unwanted copies a progression purpose instead of leaving them unused. When you obtain a higher-grade rune of the same type, it replaces the lower-grade registered rune. Check the resulting skill setup after each replacement so the new effect still matches your rotation.
Because the official material does not establish one best rune combination for every mode, judge runes by the stage: sustained damage, burst windows, survival, and resource requirements can all change which skill is worth supporting.

Craft unlocks when Sung Jinwoo reaches level 7. Its value is control: it lets you direct resources toward a target instead of relying entirely on random upgrades.
After Hidden Chapter 1 Episode 8 on Normal, artifact crafting can offer controlled choices for set, slot, level, main stat, and up to two substats when the relevant options are eligible. That makes Craft especially useful once you know which artifact slot or set effect your current build lacks.
Use a craft decision checklist
- Choose the set or slot that supports the skill and weapon combination you are actually using.
- Confirm that the main stat addresses your current failure condition before spending materials.
- Use substat choices to improve the same plan rather than mixing damage, defense, and resource goals without a reason.
- Save expensive crafting materials when the item would be replaced immediately by the next story gate.
Crafting is not a reason to stop advancing the story. It is a targeted tool for removing a specific equipment bottleneck while you continue unlocking stronger systems.

Artifacts after Chapter 5 Episode 1
Artifacts are equippable items for Jinwoo and other hunters, and they become available after Chapter 5 Episode 1. Their value comes from both individual stats and matching-set effects, so compare the complete loadout rather than selecting every piece by one large number.

Build sets before chasing perfect pieces
Matching artifacts add set effects. A slightly less impressive individual piece can therefore be the better choice when it completes a useful set bonus. Start by identifying the set effect that supports your active damage pattern, then fill the required slots with pieces that are good enough to keep you progressing.
Enhance in meaningful breakpoints
Artifact enhancement tiers 5, 10, 15, and 20 add supporting stats. These breakpoints make a partially enhanced piece materially different from an untouched drop, but they also make indiscriminate spending expensive.
- Enhance equipped pieces first.
- Enhance a replacement only when its set, main stat, and likely time in your loadout justify the cost.
- Use the tier breakpoints as checkpoints: stop and compare the complete build before committing to the next tier.
- If an enhancement attempt fails, the bonus rate increases by 1%. Treat that increased rate as part of the item’s future value rather than abandoning a useful piece after one failure.
Do not farm for a perfect artifact before the system is unlocked or before your story progress requires it. Early artifacts are primarily a bridge to later content; their purpose is to make the next gate affordable, not to end your progression search.
Armory at level 30 and Total Power
Armory unlocks when Sung Jinwoo reaches level 30. Register owned Sung Jinwoo exclusive weapons in the available Armory slots. Registered weapons contribute a percentage of their Total Power to the Armory, which then contributes to combat and squad formation power.

Armory priorities
- Open Armory as soon as level 30 is reached.
- Register every eligible exclusive weapon you own, not only the weapon currently equipped.
- Check whether a weapon is already contributing before treating an additional enhancement as an Armory requirement.
- Compare the cost of improving an existing weapon with the benefit of registering a new eligible weapon.
Armory changes the value of your collection. A weapon that is not part of today’s active rotation can still matter because its registered Total Power contributes to the broader power calculation. The exact contribution percentage is not established in the available guide material, so do not assume a fixed number when comparing weapons.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Cores after Chapter 10 on Hard
Cores become available after Story Chapter 10 on Hard. Each Core has two random stats and one unique stat. That random structure makes evaluation more important than simply equipping the newest drop.
Evaluate a Core before investing
- Check whether both random stats support Jinwoo’s current role.
- Read the unique stat separately; it can change the item’s value even when one random stat is imperfect.
- Compare the Core with the one already equipped, including the cost of leveling, enhancing, and limit-breaking it.
- Keep promising candidates until you can make a deliberate comparison instead of feeding every new Core immediately.
Level, enhance, and limit-break the best candidates. Because Cores are a late progression system, rushing to upgrade every drop can consume materials needed for a Core that better matches your final rotation.
How to choose between competing upgrades
When two upgrades appear close, use the following order of questions:
- Will it solve the current failure? A survivability upgrade is superior to damage if defeat is ending the run; damage is superior if you survive but miss the timer.
- Does it improve the way you deal damage? Strength supports basic attacks, while Agility, Intelligence, and Perception address critical damage, MP, and consistency.
- Does the full artifact set outperform the isolated item? Include the set effect and enhancement breakpoint, not just the individual stat line.
- Will it remain equipped after the next story gate? A short-term enhancement is sensible when it unlocks progress; it is wasteful when the item is clearly temporary.
- Does it improve total collection power? After level 30, an exclusive weapon may provide Armory value even when it is not your active weapon.
This framework covers the four common trade-offs: immediate damage versus survivability, basic-attack scaling versus MP or precision, raw artifact stats versus set bonuses, and enhancement cost versus expected time in the loadout.

Common beginner mistakes and fixes
Spreading materials across everything
Upgrading every weapon, skill, artifact, and Core leaves no concentrated source of power. Keep a primary skill package, a practical artifact set, and the best available weapon choices; invest elsewhere only when a system’s collection benefit justifies it.
Ignoring story gates
Farming before Craft, Artifacts, Armory, or Cores are available limits the quality of the upgrades you can make. Push the main story and complete progression objectives so your farming time occurs inside the system that can actually improve your account.
Chasing a perfect stat spread
The official guides define what each stat does but do not prescribe one split for all modes. Adjust points around the stage’s failure condition instead of treating a community build as universally correct.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Replacing set effects with one attractive drop
A single high-looking artifact stat can be weaker than a complete matching set. Compare the finished loadout, including set effects and enhancement tiers.
Assuming the level cap from an old guide
Several official guides were written from a test version and may change. A 2026 update confirms a new Sung Jinwoo job change and a higher maximum level, but the resulting cap is not stated in the available extract. Verify the cap in the live client and current patch notes before planning a long-term leveling target.
