You do not need the Digital Deluxe Edition to buy Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds DLC: Standard Edition and physical-game owners can purchase released packs separately through their platform’s store. Digital Deluxe includes the base game and Season Pass. For the latest paid pack verified as released in SEGA’s notices here, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Wave 5 pack, access depends on your edition and completing the required download or setup steps.
Do you need the Season Pass to play DLC tracks?
No. SEGA says the Season Pass is included with Digital Deluxe, and that the pass and collaboration DLC can also be purchased separately. Standard Edition and physical-game owners can buy released collaboration DLC through their platform’s store. Current prices and store availability depend on platform and region.

How to access a released DLC pack
SEGA’s instructions for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Wave 5 pack distinguish between pass owners and players buying the pack separately. The game must be updated to the latest version.

Which courses are in the Season Pass?
SEGA’s official purchase guide lists six waves and their associated courses. A course appearing in the guide confirms it is part of the announced lineup; the listing alone does not confirm that its pack has released.

Are all crossover characters paid DLC?
No. SEGA announced Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5 Royal, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon as free-update racers in its launch announcement. SEGA also described Axel as a free update and said an internet connection is required to claim add-ons in its Axel announcement. By contrast, the Season Pass and collaboration packs are paid content. Check the specific announcement rather than assuming a crossover character is free or paid based on its franchise.

Can you race on a paid DLC track online if you do not own it?
SEGA’s cited pages do not state whether a player without a paid course pack can enter that course by joining another player’s online race. Do not assume that a friend’s ownership shares access—or that it cannot. Check current platform-specific support information or confirm the behavior in the game.
SEGA describes CrossWorlds races as three laps: racers pass through a Travel Ring after lap one, race a CrossWorld for lap two, then return to the original course for the final lap. Its product information also specifies crossplay and online races of up to 12 players. Those features describe race structure and online capacity, not DLC ownership rules.
