Sonic Rumble launched globally on November 5, 2025, so it is no longer awaiting a November release. SEGA’s June 2026 update refers to the live game as Sonic Rumble Party and lists it on iOS, Android, Steam and Google Play Games.
When did Sonic Rumble come out?
SEGA announced the global launch for November 5, 2025, and confirmed the release on that date. The announcement covered iOS, Android, Google Play Games and Steam. SEGA Sammy’s February 2026 investor presentation also records November 5, 2025, as the global launch date for the free-to-play iOS, Android and PC game.
SEGA reported 1.4 million pre-registrations when it announced the date on October 23, 2025. That is a pre-registration figure, not a measure of current players. SEGA’s launch-date announcement and its global launch notice document the schedule and release.
Why was the launch postponed?
The Sonic Rumble Team said the earlier global launch plan needed to move because it wanted more time to make the game a lasting experience and develop planned changes. The team specifically cited additions including rankings, crews and character skills, saying they would reshape the game. At the time of that postponement notice, it had not announced a replacement date.

As the team put it: “To build the kind of high-quality, long-lasting Sonic game our players deserve, we need more time.” The official notice explains the stated reason, but the available announcements do not establish a complete chronology or a precise total number of schedule changes. What is Sonic Rumble called now, and what kind of game is it?
SEGA’s update dated June 25, 2026, identifies the live game as Sonic Rumble Party and lists its service start as November 5, 2025. It is a multiplayer party game built around short competitive stages, with obstacle courses, survival rounds, team play and ring battles. SEGA describes matches of up to 32 players and more than 100 stages in its 2026 product update. Those figures describe the stated match capacity and stage count, not concurrent players.

The same update describes continuing seasonal events and a premium pass. The game is free to play with optional in-game purchases; free-to-play does not mean every item or pass is free. SEGA’s June 2026 update gives the current name and product details.
