DJ Style “MOSAIC” is a continuous, cross-era Sonic DJ mix, while collections such as the Sonic R and Sonic Adventure soundtracks present music grouped around one game. SEGA announced MOSAIC for CD and simultaneous music-service release on December 2, 2026, at ¥2,800 including tax in Japan. That date is still in the future as of October 8, 2026, so the album is announced, not yet released. SEGA’s announcement is the source for the release details and tracklist.
What makes DJ Style “MOSAIC” different?
MOSAIC is the second non-stop Sonic DJ mix album, following 2020’s DJ Style “PARTY”. SEGA describes it as a flowing mix drawing on Sonic games across eras and genres, mixed by Tomoya Ohtani. Its identity is therefore less “the soundtrack to one game” and more “a continuous set that moves among Sonic music.”
The announced tracklist contains 29 numbered tracks. It combines remixes and rhythm mixes with original game cues, vocal versions, and mashups. Two items stand out for listeners who already know the game soundtracks: “Doom Zone × Undefeatable (Mashup Remix)” and “I’m with you × Dreams Of An Absolution (Mashup Remix)” had previously been heard only at the live event SONIC MUSIC EXPERIENCE, according to SEGA, and receive their first audio release on MOSAIC. “Space Trip Steps …for Meteor Herd (Garage House Remix)” was made for this album.

How MOSAIC compares with other Sonic collections
These albums are useful comparisons because they serve different listening purposes. The counts below are the number of tracks listed by SEGA; they are not measures of quality or completeness.

Which collection suits your listening?
Choose MOSAIC for a connected mix and alternate versions
MOSAIC is the clearest fit if you want Sonic music reshaped into a continuous DJ set, rather than separated by game. Its announced program includes remixes across the series, album-specific material, and the two mashups receiving their first audio release here. The tracklist is not presented as a complete score for any one game.
Choose a game soundtrack catalogue for one game’s music
Sonic R and Sonic Adventure are more direct choices when you want music tied to a particular game. The listed Sonic R selection includes “Can You Feel The Sunshine?” and “Super Sonic Racing,” while the Sonic Adventure 20th Anniversary Edition groups stage, character, boss, and main-theme cues. Their catalogue pages provide digital purchase links.
Use PARTY as a format comparison, not an assumed track-by-track match
DJ Style “PARTY” is the relevant predecessor because it is also a non-stop Sonic DJ mix. The available SEGA announcement establishes its 2020 release, but not its tracklist, present-day availability, or overlap with MOSAIC. Those details should not be assumed from the shared format.
What about Sonic soundtrack vinyl?
SEGA and Sonic Channel documented official Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 vinyl editions in a January 2018 announcement. Each was described as a two-record, 180g set with a bilingual booklet and download codes. This is a useful physical-format comparison with a CD, but the announcement is historical and does not show that either edition is currently available. Sonic Channel’s vinyl announcement.

As of October 8, 2026, no: SEGA’s October 7 announcement schedules the CD and simultaneous music-service release for December 2, 2026. It gives a Japanese CD price of ¥2,800 including tax, but does not establish retailer listings, shipping terms, or availability outside Japan. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to make a fair comparison
- Selection: decide whether you want music spanning Sonic games or a collection centered on one title.
- Presentation: distinguish a continuous DJ mix and its remixes from a game soundtrack catalogue.
- Distinctive material: check for new arrangements, mashups, or versions that are not simply the familiar game cues.
- Format and edition: compare CD, vinyl, and digital releases separately; a historical physical edition is not proof of current stock.
- Price and access: treat MOSAIC’s ¥2,800 including tax as the announced Japan CD price, not a verified price or offer in every region.
The available product information supports comparisons of format, track count, selection, and announced availability. It does not establish a sound-quality ranking, so choosing between these releases comes down to the listening experience and edition you want.
