The announced overseas price is US$7,000, before customs duties, taxes and shipping. As of October 3, 2026, the announced sales dates were still in the future: an online lottery was scheduled to open October 9, alongside a five-piece in-person sale in Tokyo.
What is the $7,000 Sonic figure?
“Infinite Blue” is a porcelain Sonic the Hedgehog figure announced by YOYOYO and credited to SEGA. It is made from Arita porcelain, rather than being a conventional mass-market plastic game figure. The announcement describes a worldwide edition of 50 numbered pieces.
The figure measures 15.6 cm wide × 22.8 cm deep × 21.3 cm high. The set includes the figure, a certificate, a base and a wooden box. These specifications and edition details come from the October 2, 2026 announcement by 株式会社マルキュウ, published through PR TIMES.
How much does it cost?
The announced overseas price is US$7,000, with customs duties, taxes and shipping charged separately. For Japan, the announced price is ¥1,000,000 including tax and domestic shipping. The two prices apply to different regions and do not establish the final landed cost for an overseas buyer; import charges and delivery costs depend on the destination and applicable checkout terms.

How was it made?
Porcelain form and finishing
The announcement credits 224porcelain with shaping the figure and Li-Sho Kiln (李荘窯) with painting and finishing. It says the makers combined 224porcelain’s Hizen Yoshida ware tradition with 3D digital modeling and mold work. According to the release, refining the data and molds and conducting firing tests took approximately eight months. Thin, extended porcelain forms can warp or crack during firing, which the company cites as a challenge in developing the sculpture.
Blue glaze and decorative motifs
The blue uses gosu (呉須), a traditional cobalt underglaze pigment. The maker says the decoration includes shippo (interlocking circles), seigaiha (waves) and yagasuri (arrow-feather pattern), with red overglaze used for Sonic’s motion trail. The announcement presents these choices as part of the design; its descriptions of the craft tradition and symbolism are the maker’s claims.

The 50-piece worldwide edition and US$7,000 overseas price are announced product terms, not evidence that all pieces have sold or that the figure has a particular resale value. The release’s “around 400 years” description refers to the Arita ware craft lineage as presented by the company; it should not be read as the age of this figure or its makers. No independent production audit or resale valuation is established by the announcement.
