1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUnder a practical definition—games released on PS5 in 2025 and exclusive to PlayStation consoles at launch, even if also available on PC—the two titles this evidence supports ranking are Ghost of Yōtei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. This is not a verified exhaustive list of every Sony-published PS5 release from the year, so the ranking should not be read as a definitive “every game” catalog. The order is editorial judgment, not a review-score average or firsthand-play verdict.
How this ranking defines “PS5 exclusive”
Here, “exclusive” means a game launched on PS5 and was exclusive to PlayStation consoles at launch. A simultaneous PC release does not disqualify it, and a later PC port does not change its launch status. A stricter definition—PS5-only at launch, or never released beyond PlayStation—would produce a different list.
Sony’s 2025 Holiday Gift Guide notes that Days Gone and Lost Soul Aside were available on PC as well as PS5, but the cited information does not by itself establish their launch-platform histories for this ranking’s scope. Nor does it establish an exhaustive catalog of Sony-published PS5 releases for 2025. A game’s appearance in a PlayStation showcase is not proof Sony published it; the February 2025 State of Play recap, for example, covers third-party games alongside Sony-published titles.
For the ranking, the editorial rubric weighs ambition and scale, distinctiveness of the core play, accessibility of the story to newcomers, and breadth of experience. Eligibility and quality are separate questions: publisher, release date, platform, and launch status determine whether a title belongs; the rubric determines its position.

1. Ghost of Yōtei
Ghost of Yōtei takes the top position for the scope and breadth suggested by Sony’s description: an exploration-focused adventure with intricate combat, set in rural Japan in the 1600s. It follows Atsu in a standalone story, making it the more straightforward starting point for someone who has not played another game in the series. The choice is an editorial assessment of the stated criteria, not a claim about review consensus.
Sucker Punch Productions developed the game. Sony announced its PS5 release for October 2, 2025. The launch announcement listed Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions, with US launch MSRPs of $69.99, $79.99, and $249.99 respectively. Those are historical launch prices, not current prices or a statement of present availability. Read Sony’s launch announcement for the release details.

2. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the more unusual proposition of the two: Sony describes it as an open-world action adventure, a format that gives it a distinct identity in this short ranking. It places second under the same rubric, with the order reflecting editorial judgment rather than a measured comparison of reviews or playtime.
The game released on PS5 on June 26, 2025. Kojima Productions developed it, and Sony Interactive Entertainment published it. Sony’s release announcement listed a standard physical edition, a Collector’s Edition, and a Digital Deluxe Edition. Its description and edition information are in the PlayStation release announcement.

What this ranking does—and does not—establish
The available official information supports platform and release details for the two ranked games, but it does not verify every possible 2025 candidate’s publisher, launch platforms, and release date. Accordingly, this is a scoped ranking of the supported candidates, not a complete census. Sony also reported that more than 100 PS5 Pro Enhanced titles were available in its November 13, 2025 Holiday Gift Guide; that platform figure is not a count of 2025 exclusives or of games in this ranking.
