Where to find the armor editor
- Switch to Operations or Eternal War.
- Enter the Armouring Hall.
- Select Edit Armour from the Armouring Hall’s main page.

How to change armor pieces and sets
In Armour Sets, select an available preset or use a custom slot to assemble unlocked pieces. The official customization overview describes class-associated sets and parts such as helmets, pauldrons, breastplates, wargear, gauntlets, and greaves. Many are unlocked through multiplayer progression, including PvE and PvP play. Focus Entertainment’s customization overview
Choose the relevant class and slot, then select from the items available to that class. If the piece you want is locked, inspect its in-game requirement; unlock conditions vary by item.

How to change armor colors, patterns, and emblems
Open Astartes Chapters to select a Chapter preset or build a custom appearance in the Heraldry Editor. The editor offers color schemes, patterns, and emblems. The independent guide also describes applying separate rules to selected armor parts, so a custom design can be more specific than one overall color choice. Independent guide to changing armor colors
Chapter identity and armor pieces are separate choices: changing a Chapter look affects the paint and heraldry design, while Armour Sets is where you change the actual armor components.

What unlocks through play and what may be paid content
Many armor pieces and heraldry options are progression unlocks, but not every cosmetic follows the same route. Focus’s launch-era overview distinguishes gameplay progression from Season Pass content; it should not be treated as a complete inventory of current unlocks. Check the specific item’s requirement in the game.
A later example is the July 28, 2026 Patch 14 announcement: the Salamanders Champion and Raptors Cosmetic Pack are included with Season Pass 2 or available separately, and the Salamanders armor parts can be mixed with existing sets. Customizing Heretic Astartes in Eternal War
In PvP, traitor-legion representations are tied to class, according to Focus’s overview. You can change their colors and emblems, but the available appearance options depend on the relevant class and customization menu. Focus Entertainment’s customization overview

Customization has expanded through updates. Focus’s version 7.0 notes, for example, added two colors and options to recolor Bulwark cloth and hands. Older walkthroughs may not show every option now available. Focus Entertainment’s version 7.0 notes

Focus’s August 27, 2024 overview also mentioned more than 30 Chapters at launch. That dated figure is not a current count, so use the choices shown in your game rather than relying on an older total.
