Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 is already in development, so Saber Interactive is not simply searching for its next game. What remains unknown is which other licensed project, if any, the studio will pursue: Saber CCO Tim Willits said the success of Space Marine 2 brought more opportunities than the company could accept, but he did not name the one it turned down.
What did the Space Marine 2 developers say about their next game?
In an interview with The Game Business, as reported by GamesRadar in July 2026, Saber Interactive Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits said Space Marine 2 changed how the studio is viewed and raised expectations for what it makes next. “I’ve seen this in my career, when you have a huge hit, when you go to make the next game, everything has to be awesome,” Willits said.

He also said major license holders want video games and that Saber has more licensed opportunities than it can take. Willits described the studio as being in “a very fortunate position to turn down more than we can accept.” That is a statement about the volume of offers, not a confirmation that Saber has chosen a particular unannounced franchise.
Is Space Marine 3 confirmed?
Yes. Saber Interactive, publisher Focus Entertainment, and Games Workshop officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 on March 13, 2025. Saber CEO Matthew Karch called Space Marine 2 “a transformative game for Saber” in the announcement.

The announcement confirms an all-new campaign and multiplayer modes, but says gameplay, setting, and factions are being kept under wraps. It gives no release date. The confirmed sequel is therefore the clearest answer to what Saber is making next; details beyond the announced modes and development partners have not been disclosed in that release.
Which game did Saber turn down?
Willits did not identify the declined opportunity in the GamesRadar report. The report does not establish that it was a Warhammer project or any other specific series, so naming a candidate would be speculation. The confirmed Space Marine 3 should also be kept distinct from those unnamed offers: Saber has announced the sequel, while the declined projects remain undisclosed.

Is Saber still supporting Space Marine 2?
Focus Entertainment’s August 28, 2025 Year 2 roadmap laid out six planned patches across 2025 and 2026. The roadmap included additions such as PvE and PvP modes, missions, arenas, a playable Techmarine class, weapons, enemies, and progression updates. Those were plans announced at that time; the roadmap alone does not establish which items remain upcoming or have since been delivered.
In a separate June 9, 2026 announcement, Focus said a Nintendo Switch 2 version was scheduled for Holiday 2026 and reported that the game had more than 12 million players. Holiday 2026 was the publisher’s stated schedule, not confirmation that the version had shipped.
