Spaceland earned a 78 Metascore on Metacritic’s Xbox One critic page, based on four reviews. Critics generally liked its approachable, brisk turn-based tactics and visuals, while noting grind and limits in its story and development of familiar genre ideas. That is a small, platform-specific sample—not a verdict covering every version of the game.
What is Spaceland?
Spaceland, also listed on Steam as Spaceland: Sci-Fi Indie Tactics, is a science-fiction, turn-based tactics game about a squad of space rangers fighting alien creatures on a mysterious planet. Steam lists Tortuga Team as developer and publisher; Metacritic’s game details page instead lists Ellada Games. The available listings do not resolve that attribution difference, so it is best to identify which source is being cited.
Steam describes a campaign built around short tactical battles. Its store page advertises 10–15 minutes per battle, seven rangers with distinct fighting styles, equipment and ability upgrades, and 20 enemy types. Those are Steam listing claims, not independently measured playtime or testing results. Steam’s store listing
