Samsung’s printer business and support have moved to HP, so current Samsung printer drivers are commonly hosted through HP. - Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select the Samsung printer.
- Record the complete model name.
If the printer is not listed, check its physical label or the name shown in the failed application.
Also check the Windows architecture:
- Right-click Start.
- Select System.
- Find System type.
- Note whether Windows is 64-bit or 32-bit.
The Samsung package must support both the exact printer model and your Windows version. HP documentation distinguishes 32-bit and 64-bit support for older Samsung driver packages, but that does not prove which architecture this particular DLL uses.
Remove the existing Samsung software
If the installer can repair the installation, you may be able to install over the existing package. If the same error returns, remove the old software first:
- Press Windows + I.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Search for Samsung.
- Remove Samsung printer utilities, printer software, or old driver packages related to the affected printer.
- Restart Windows.
Then remove the printer entry:
- Open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select the Samsung printer.
- Select Remove.
- Confirm the removal.
For older Control Panel interfaces:
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click the Samsung printer and select Remove device.
- Select another printer in the window.

After installation:
- Open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select the Samsung printer.
- Select Printer properties.
- Select Print Test Page.
If the test page prints and the Samsung utility opens without the DLL error, the repair worked. If basic printing works but Samsung-specific settings do not, install the model-specific utility or driver extension offered for that printer.

Fix 2: Check whether antivirus quarantined the file
If the error appeared immediately after a security scan, Windows Security may have quarantined a Samsung driver file.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- Expand any detection associated with the Samsung printer software.
- Check the original file location and detection details.
Only restore the file if all of the following are true:
- It came from a legitimate Samsung or HP driver installation.
- The printer model matches the installed package.
- The path is consistent with the printer software.
- The file has a trustworthy digital signature.
- The detection is clearly a false positive.
Microsoft warns that restoring a quarantined file can reintroduce a real threat. In most cases, reinstalling the driver from the official source is safer than restoring an isolated DLL.
After reinstalling, run another security scan. A file named ssgs1ui.dll in an unexpected folder should not be trusted solely because its name resembles Samsung software.
Fix 3: Check for a wrong architecture or incompatible package
A 32-bit application cannot generally load a 64-bit DLL, and a 64-bit application cannot use a 32-bit DLL in the same way. The printer package also has to support the Windows version and printer model.

Compatibility mode may help an installer run, but it cannot make an incompatible printer driver reliable in every case.
Fix 4: Remove stale printer references
A Windows upgrade, disk cleanup, printer migration, or failed uninstall can leave a printer entry pointing to software that no longer exists.
Remove unused entries:
- Open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Remove old Samsung printers that are no longer used.
- Uninstall their related Samsung software under Apps.
- Restart Windows.
- Install only the package required by the current printer.
If several Samsung models have been installed on the computer, review Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Print server properties → Drivers and remove unused driver packages carefully.
A stale reference may cause the error when Windows starts a printer utility, even though the printer itself is disconnected. If the error appears at startup, identify the exact program named in the message or inspect the relevant startup entry before deleting anything.

Fix 5: Test Windows’ generic printer driver
This step helps determine whether the problem is limited to Samsung’s software.
- Open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select Add device.
- Allow Windows to search.
- If the printer is detected, install it using the available Windows driver.
- Print a test page.
If the generic driver prints successfully, the printer hardware and connection may be functional. Samsung-specific printer properties or monitoring features may still be unavailable until the correct Samsung package is installed.
If the generic driver also fails, check the USB cable, network connection, printer queue, and Windows print service before treating ssgs1ui.dll as the only problem.
Fix 6: Repair the print queue and restart the Print Spooler
A corrupt queue can make printer software appear to fail.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
services.msc. - Press Enter.
- Find Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
To clear stuck jobs:
- Open Services again.
- Right-click Print Spooler and select Stop.
- Open File Explorer.
- Browse to
C:WindowsSystem32spoolPRINTERS. - Delete the files inside that folder, not the folder itself.

Fix 7: Do not use regsvr32 as a general DLL repair
regsvr32 is designed for DLLs that provide registration functions such as DllRegisterServer. It is not a universal command for repairing every missing DLL.
For this file, registration is generally inappropriate because ssgs1ui.dll is identified as a printer-driver user-interface component, not as a COM component that must be registered manually.
If you run:
regsvr32 ssgs1ui.dll
and Windows reports that an entry point is missing, that does not mean you need another copy of the file. It usually means the DLL is not designed for that registration method.
Do not copy the file into C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64. Do not copy it from another computer unless the printer model, package version, architecture, and installation context are all confirmed. Reinstalling the complete driver package restores the required files and dependencies together.

Fix 8: Repair broader Windows component corruption
SFC and DISM do not recreate a missing third-party Samsung printer DLL. Use them when several unrelated Windows components are failing or the printer installer itself cannot run.
First open an elevated Command Prompt:
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
Run DISM first:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Wait for it to finish. Then run:
sfc /scannow
Restart Windows after both commands complete.
Success means DISM completes without an error and SFC reports that it found no integrity violations or repaired corrupted files. If SFC reports that it could not fix some files, restart and run it again after DISM has completed. If the Samsung DLL remains missing, return to the printer-driver reinstall rather than expecting SFC to supply it.

Fix 9: Use System Restore only as a fallback
System Restore is appropriate when:
- The printer worked previously.
- A restore point predates the failure.
- Reinstalling the printer software did not help.
- Other recent software or driver changes may have caused the problem.
To try it:
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point from before the error began.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Confirm the restore.
- Restart Windows and test the printer.
System Restore changes system files, drivers, and installed software, but it is not a substitute for backing up personal files. If it does not resolve the issue, undo the restore when Windows offers that option and continue with a clean driver installation.

If the message says “The specified module could not be found,” the named DLL may exist while another dependency is missing. If it says the procedure entry point cannot be located, the installed DLL and the calling program may come from incompatible package versions.
