In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, stamina recipes have two distinct effects: Energizing meals and elixirs restore stamina you have spent, while Enduring recipes restore stamina and temporarily add to your Stamina Wheel. The examples below are useful starting points, not an exhaustive list: ingredient combinations and quantities affect results, and the available sources do not establish every recipe or its potency.
What the stamina recipe names mean
- Energizing: restores spent stamina. It does not mean the recipe temporarily increases the size of your Stamina Wheel.
- Enduring: restores stamina and temporarily extends the Stamina Wheel, giving you additional stamina for a limited time.
When choosing between recipes, consider the recovery you need, whether temporary extra stamina would help, which ingredients you have, and any documented heart recovery.
Representative stamina food and elixir recipes
| Type | Example ingredients | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Energizing meal | 1 Stamella Shroom + 1 Stambulb | Nintendo gives Energizing Steamed Mushrooms as an example; the meal restores stamina and hearts. The precise amount is not stated in the official guide. |
| Energizing elixir | Restless Cricket or Energetic Rhino Beetle + a Monster Part | These are listed as energizing critters used with a Monster Part. The exact result depends on the ingredients and quantities. |
| Enduring elixir | Tireless Frog + a Monster Part | This combination restores stamina and temporarily extends the Stamina Wheel. The exact amount is not stated. |
| Enduring meal | 1 Endura Carrot | A secondary guide reports that its Enduring Fried Wild Greens example fully restores stamina and adds one-sixth of a wheel. Treat that as the guide’s example, not a universal maximum. |
These examples do not constitute every possible recipe. The sources do not establish every alternate dish name, legal ingredient permutation, or exact effect for each combination.
How to make and find stamina recipes
Cook a meal
- Find a cooking pot and a fire, and make sure you have the ingredients you want to use.
- Use the ingredients at the pot to cook a meal. For an official stamina-food example, combine a Stamella Shroom and a Stambulb to make Energizing Steamed Mushrooms.
- To revisit meals you have made, open the Pouch, select Food, then press X to view the Recipe Book.
Make an elixir
Elixirs follow a critter-plus-Monster-Part pattern. For stamina effects, the listed energizing critters include Restless Crickets and Energetic Rhino Beetles; Tireless Frogs are listed for Enduring Elixirs. The critter supplies the special effect, while a Monster Part completes the elixir. Ingredient quantities influence the outcome, so the examples above should not be read as guaranteed potency values.

How to choose between stamina recipes
- Need to refill stamina already spent? Choose an Energizing recipe.
- Need stamina now and extra capacity temporarily? Choose an Enduring recipe.
- Short on a particular ingredient? Use a recipe whose required critter, mushroom, plant, or Monster Part you have available; the examples here are not the only possible combinations.
- Also need hearts? Nintendo’s Energizing Steamed Mushrooms example restores hearts as well as stamina. The cited material does not establish heart recovery for every recipe listed here.
Changing an ingredient or its quantity can change a recipe’s result. Check the finished dish or elixir rather than assuming that one ingredient example guarantees a particular recovery amount.

No. Nintendo states that meal and elixir effects do not stack. Do not expect to combine active food and elixir effects to multiply their benefits.
