The quickest dependable way to earn Poki in Happy Home Paradise is to keep completing Paradise Planning jobs: design vacation homes, take on facility projects, and remodel homes when that option becomes available. Keep advancing through the work, since a secondary guide reports that payments rise with designer progression. Nintendo has not published an authoritative payout chart, so there is no verified Poki-per-minute shortcut to recommend.
Which jobs earn Poki?
Vacation-home design is the core repeatable job: accept a client request, complete the design, and continue to the next available request. Nintendo describes vacation-home and facility design as the DLC’s central activities; an iMore guide also identifies facility work and remodeling as ways to earn Poki.
- Vacation homes: The main activity to repeat as new clients become available.
- Facilities: Take on facility design when it is offered.
- Remodels: Remodel completed vacation homes when the option is unlocked.
There is no substantiated comparison of these activities by time spent per Poki. Choose from the work available to you rather than assuming that one job type is always the fastest.
Does Poki pay more as you progress?
The iMore guide reports that payments increase as your designer rank advances. That supports continuing to take jobs instead of expecting the same early-game payout indefinitely, but the exact payment amounts and rank-by-rank increases are not confirmed in the Nintendo sources reviewed here. Treat specific salary ladders found elsewhere as unverified rather than as a guaranteed current rate.

Can you exchange Bells for Poki?
No. Nintendo describes Poki as the archipelago’s currency, separate from Bells. Bells cannot be accessed in the archipelago, and Poki cannot be accessed on your home island. Happy Home Paradise requires the full Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, including the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition where applicable, plus access to the DLC. The DLC can be purchased separately or accessed through an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Purchased DLC remains playable indefinitely; membership-based access lasts only while the membership is active. Nintendo lists these requirements and access terms on its DLC access page.

Unlocking the “go to work” option
On your home island, you must have upgraded Resident Services from a tent, attended Tom Nook’s DIY workshop, and have a house rather than a tent. Nintendo says “go to work” becomes available at least one day after all three milestones are met. Details are in Nintendo’s unlock instructions.
