Quick decision guide
Pick Jedi: Survivor for a complete solo campaign
Cal Kestis’s sequel is the clearest choice if you want lightsaber combat, exploration and a directed narrative without depending on other players. It is designed as a single-player action adventure and can be played on its own, although the preceding game supplies additional story context.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Pick Outlaws for open-world freedom
If your ideal Star Wars fantasy is moving between locations, taking jobs and playing a less-than-heroic outlaw, Outlaws is the open-world option in this comparison. Kay Vess and Nix provide the central viewpoint rather than a Jedi’s, and the setting sits between the original trilogy’s second and third films.
Pick Zero Company for deliberate tactical decisions
Turn-based combat changes the pace completely. You plan actions for a squad, adjust equipment and abilities, and solve encounters through positioning and sequencing instead of reflexes. It is the choice for players who enjoy building a team and thinking several turns ahead.
Pick Battlefront II for battlefield scale
Battlefront II is the broadest traditional shooter choice here. Its multiplayer covers the prequel, original and sequel-era films, making it suitable when you want recognizable armies, heroes and locations in large battles. It also includes a single-player story for players who want a solo component.
Pick Squadrons for cockpit combat
Squadrons narrows its focus to piloting. The first-person viewpoint, ship handling and team dogfights make it fundamentally different from a ground-based shooter. Choose it when the part of Star Wars you most want to inhabit is the cockpit.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: the focused Jedi adventure
What the game is
Electronic Arts describes Jedi: Survivor as a narratively driven, single-player, third-person action adventure. It follows Cal Kestis five years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. That places it firmly in the character-led Jedi category rather than the multiplayer battlefield or open-world outlaw categories.
The sequel structure matters if story continuity is important to you. Fallen Order establishes Cal, his allies and the threats that shape the follow-up. However, EA says Survivor can stand alone, so newcomers are not required to complete the first game before starting it. You can begin with Survivor and learn its immediate situation, then return to Fallen Order if you want the earlier chapter.

EA announced the initial 2023 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions followed on September 17, 2024. Check the exact edition shown by your retailer or platform storefront, since generation-specific versions are not interchangeable assumptions.
Who should choose it?
- Players who want one substantial story rather than an ongoing multiplayer service.
- Anyone specifically looking for lightsaber-focused third-person action.
- Newcomers who want a self-contained entry but may later explore the preceding game.
Star Wars Outlaws: open-world exploration as a scoundrel
What the game is
Ubisoft presents Outlaws as the first open-world Star Wars game. You play Kay Vess, accompanied by Nix, in a story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The premise supports roaming, discovery and underworld adventure rather than Jedi training or regimented military missions.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
That time period also gives the game a specific narrative position. It is not a general retelling of the original trilogy and it is not set during the Clone Wars. Expect a story operating in the tense gap after the second film and before the third, with a scoundrel’s perspective on the galaxy.

Who should choose it?
- Players who value a broad explorable setting over a tightly linear campaign.
- Fans of the original-trilogy era who want a civilian or criminal viewpoint.
- Anyone whose preferred Star Wars fantasy is improvisation, travel and working outside the formal Jedi or military structures.
Star Wars Zero Company: turn-based Clone Wars tactics
What the game is
Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. Its defining feature is a squad that can be customized through appearances, loadouts and abilities. That combination makes it the most planning-heavy option in this group and the only one built around a deliberately customizable tactical team.
Recommended Free Tools
Turn-based play gives every action a different cost from a shooter. You can pause to assess positions, decide which squad member should act, and shape the team’s capabilities before the next engagement. If you prefer careful preparation to rapid aiming, this is the natural starting point.

The official announcement identifies current-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms; it does not establish versions for older consoles. Do not assume that a previous-generation edition exists without checking the store listing.
Who should choose it?
- Players who enjoy turn order, positioning and resource management.
- People who want to customize a team rather than control one hero.
- Clone Wars fans looking for a campaign centered on a squad instead of a lightsaber protagonist.
Star Wars Battlefront II: era-spanning shooter battles
What the game is
EA describes Battlefront II as offering multiplayer battles across all three cinematic eras, along with a single-player story. That scope is its main distinction in this comparison: it brings prequel, original-trilogy and sequel-era conflicts into one shooter framework.
Choose it when variety of factions and battlefield scale matter more than a single character’s journey. It is also the better fit than Squadrons if you want to fight on the ground, and the better fit than Jedi: Survivor if your priority is playing against or alongside other people.
Platform note
The official material used for this comparison describes the modes and eras but does not establish a complete current platform list. Check the live store page for your console or PC before buying, and confirm whether the multiplayer population and edition you need are supported in your region.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Who should choose it?
- Players seeking large-scale multiplayer rather than a purely solo campaign.
- Fans who want battles from all three cinematic eras in one game.
- Anyone who wants both online combat and a separate single-player story mode.
Star Wars: Squadrons: first-person starfighter combat
What the game is
Squadrons is built around piloting rather than infantry combat. EA describes multiplayer space dogfights and a single-player campaign centered on flying starfighters. The first-person cockpit perspective makes ship control, target selection and team coordination the core activities.
That specialization is important when comparing it with Battlefront II. Both can provide multiplayer action, but they satisfy different fantasies: Battlefront II is an era-spanning ground-and-hero shooter, while Squadrons keeps you in a starfighter.
Platform note
The reviewed official descriptions establish the game’s multiplayer and campaign structure but do not provide a complete current platform list. Confirm compatibility, online requirements and regional availability on the storefront you intend to use.

How the five games differ
| Game | Primary format | Viewpoint or role | Solo content | Multiplayer emphasis | Setting |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jedi: Survivor | Action adventure | Third-person Jedi, Cal Kestis | Core single-player campaign | Not the focus | Five years after Fallen Order |
| Outlaws | Open-world adventure | Scoundrel Kay Vess with Nix | Core single-player experience | Not the focus in the official description | Between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi |
| Zero Company | Turn-based tactics | Customizable squad | Single-player campaign | Not the focus | Twilight of the Clone Wars |
| Battlefront II | Large-scale shooter | Ground combat across eras | Single-player story | Multiplayer battles | All three cinematic eras |
| Squadrons | Starfighter combat | First-person pilot | Pilot-centered campaign | Multiplayer space dogfights | Starfighter conflict; era details not specified in the reviewed description |
Platform checklist before you buy
- Identify your exact hardware: PC, PlayStation generation, Xbox generation, Nintendo Switch 2 or cloud service.
- Check the official storefront named for that platform. PC availability can differ among EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
- Confirm the edition and generation. Jedi: Survivor, for example, has separate current- and previous-generation releases.
- For online-focused choices, verify that multiplayer access is available in your region and on your platform.
- Check the current listing for price, discounts, required subscriptions and stock. Publisher prices and editions are volatile and are not reliable long-term comparison figures.
Do you need to play the earlier games first?
Jedi: Survivor and Fallen Order
No. EA says Survivor can stand alone, so you may start there. Playing Fallen Order first is an optional story-order choice for readers who want to meet Cal and his allies from the beginning, not a prerequisite stated by the publisher.
Outlaws, Zero Company, Battlefront II and Squadrons
The official descriptions used here present these as distinct game premises. Nothing in the supplied material requires a particular play order among them. Choose according to genre and platform rather than trying to complete a franchise sequence.
A practical recommendation by player type
- “I want a cinematic solo adventure.” Start with Jedi: Survivor; begin with Fallen Order only if chronological character development matters to you.
- “I want to roam and play outside the Jedi order.” Choose Outlaws.
- “I want to think through every move.” Choose Zero Company.
- “I want recognizable armies and huge battles.” Choose Battlefront II.
- “I want to fly, not run.” Choose Squadrons.
- “I do not know my preferred genre yet.” Start with the format you already enjoy in other games, then use the platform table to eliminate unavailable options.
What this comparison can—and cannot—tell you
These games are materially different products, so a single winner would obscure the decision most players actually need to make. The official pages establish each game’s premise, mode structure and, for several titles, platform support. They do not provide a common metric covering story quality, combat depth, technical performance, player population or value across territories and editions. Treat the recommendations above as fit-based guidance, not as a universal ranking.
