If Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order crashes or freezes on PS4, work through EA’s general PlayStation troubleshooting steps: update the game and console, restart and power-cycle the PS4, reinstall the game, test internal storage if it is installed externally, and restore the game license. These steps may help, but EA does not identify one cause or guarantee a fix for every Fallen Order crash.
First, note what the PS4 is doing
Before changing anything, record whether Fallen Order closes to the PS4 home screen, freezes while still open, or causes the console itself to shut down. Note when it happens, any error code, whether other games are affected, and whether you play from a disc or a digital copy. These details are useful if you need support; the available EA guidance does not diagnose an individual crash from them.
Try EA’s PlayStation troubleshooting steps
EA’s guide is general advice for PlayStation games that crash or freeze, not a game-specific diagnosis. Follow the sequence below and test Fallen Order after each change so you can tell whether anything helped.

Update the game and PS4
Install available updates for the game and the PS4 system software. EA recommends using the latest software updates when troubleshooting crashes. See EA’s crashing and freezing troubleshooting guide.

Disconnect USB devices and restart
Disconnect attached USB devices, then restart the PS4 and try the game again. This is another step in EA’s general PlayStation checklist.

Power-cycle the console
Hold the PS4’s front power button for at least seven seconds, until you hear two beeps. Wait one minute, turn the console back on, and launch the game.

Reinstall the game and compare storage locations
EA recommends reinstalling the game. If Fallen Order is installed on an external hard drive, try installing it on the PS4’s internal drive and see whether the behavior changes. Treat this as a troubleshooting comparison, not a reason to buy another drive.

Restore the game license
On PS4, go to Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses, then try the game again. This is an explicit step in EA’s PlayStation guidance.

Contact EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order support hub or PlayStation support. When you ask for help, include your PS4 model, any error code, when the crash occurs, whether you use a disc or digital copy, where the game is installed, and which steps you have already tried. EA’s support information for Fallen Order directs players toward game and platform support.

EA’s troubleshooting page covers PlayStation crashes and freezes broadly; it does not establish a single cause or guaranteed repair for Fallen Order on PS4. EA’s January 2021 next-generation optimization update discusses improvements for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not a PS4 crash fix. The material cited here also does not support claims that deleting saved data, rebuilding the database, changing display settings, or buying hardware will resolve this particular problem.
