Is the Star Wars Outlaws demo free, and how long is it?
Yes. Ubisoft describes the demo as free and limits it to up to three hours. The Xbox Store listing also advertises “Up to 3 Hours of Gameplay” and displays an April 17, 2025 release date for the demo: Xbox Store. Ubisoft’s Switch 2 announcement likewise states “up to three hours”: Ubisoft News.

The limit is a maximum, not a promise of three hours on every platform or a transferable time allowance. Check the demo’s local storefront listing for the terms shown where you plan to play.
Does demo progress carry over to the full game?
No. Ubisoft says there is no save-game carryover from the demo to the base game. The Xbox listing says demo saves will not carry over on any platform. If you later buy the full game, expect to start its campaign without the demo save; use the demo to decide whether you want to play, rather than to bank progress.

What does the demo include?
Ubisoft’s October 23, 2025 announcement describes a Tatooine sample starring Kay Vess and her companion Nix. The activities it names include:
- Searching for a mercenary by speeder.
- Taking contracts in Mos Eisley and confronting the Hutt Cartel and other threats.
- Playing Kessel Sabacc and exploring beyond the city.
- Taking part in dogfights in space.
The Xbox Store describes a similar Tatooine sample and also names Tusken Raiders among the threats. These descriptions establish the advertised content for those listings; they do not confirm that every platform’s demo is identical. Check the listing for your platform for its specific description.

What platforms is the Star Wars Outlaws demo on?
Ubisoft’s demo FAQ search result says the demo is permanently available on most platforms where the game is available, and names:
- PC: Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
- Cloud: GeForce NOW.
- Consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
“Most” is Ubisoft’s wording, not a guarantee of availability in every country or storefront. Search for the demo in the store you use and confirm that it can be downloaded or played in your region. The Xbox Store independently lists the demo for Xbox Series X|S.

How to choose where to try it
Start with the platform you already use, then verify that the demo listing is available in your country. If you are considering PC, Ubisoft’s store lists the full game’s requirements, including Windows 10/11 with DirectX 12, 16 GB RAM, and 65 GB of SSD storage. Its minimum graphics options are GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB, Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A750 8 GB with ReBAR enabled: Ubisoft Store. Those are requirements for the full game; the cited listing does not establish separate demo requirements.
The full game is a separate purchase. Ubisoft’s store lists it for PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2, and gives August 30, 2024 as its release date. Check the store for your platform for current availability and purchase details.
