Was 1.5.6 a big new update?
No. ConcernedApe called 1.5.6 “a small patch” for bugs, a multi-monitor quality-of-life feature, and long-standing gameplay inconsistencies. Stardew Valley 1.5.6 patch notes
The developer listed these changes:
- The game remembers and restores the last-used monitor on multi-monitor setups.
- A potential fix for a random crash that could happen at the end of the night.
- Fixed farm-type wallpapers and flooring not applying when starting a new game.
- Fixed dismissing the level-up screen with Esc closing the menu without applying the level up, which could make the screen return every night.
- Hoed dirt no longer decays beneath forage items on the farm, preserving soil under newly grown seasonal forage seeds.
- Grass placed indoors no longer dies when the seasons change to Winter.
- Fixed the inability to harvest Tea Saplings placed in Garden Pots on Ginger Island.
- Fixed the Z key becoming unbindable after resetting controls to default.
- Fixed map screenshots not functioning on Linux.
- Updated Steamworks.NET to version 20.0.0.
