Stardock’s Clairvoyance is a desktop AI-workflow app that the company says grew out of its own game-development and live-operations needs. In a GamesBeat exclusive published October 2, 2026, Dean Takahashi describes it as a way to assign work to AI agents inside real project workspaces—not simply another chatbot. Stardock’s examples range from analyzing crash logs and monitoring builds to preparing assets and creating Jira tasks, but the reported outcomes and demonstrations are company claims, not independently verified results.
What is Stardock Clairvoyance?
Clairvoyance is a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Stardock positions it around named AI staff members that can be assigned tasks connected to a workspace and return work products. The product website says it runs on the user’s computer and works with local files; that makes its pitch different from a chat window centered on a hosted conversation. See Stardock’s Clairvoyance site for its current product description.
That positioning does not establish that every model, provider, integration, or task runs locally. Stardock’s materials describe support for existing AI provider tools and local models, but the available product information does not independently establish exact compatibility, hardware requirements, or performance. Clairvoyance has not been independently benchmarked here.
How Clairvoyance fits game-development work
Stardock says it first built Clairvoyance for internal game-development and live-operations work, then used it to coordinate repetitive tasks. In the GamesBeat report, those tasks include organizing code-terminal work, keeping generated data in consistent formats, importing art into custom engines, converting documents into CSV data, handling localization, investigating crashes, watching builds, creating Jira tasks, and detecting advertising fraud.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Assets, content, and localization
Reported examples include bringing human-created art assets into a studio’s custom engine, converting Microsoft Word files into CSV data, and coordinating localization workflows. The proposed value is in the handoffs and repetitive processing around creative work; Clairvoyance is not presented as a replacement for artists or writers.
Crash investigation and build operations
Stardock says agents can analyze crash logs, help identify code failures, monitor build machines and servers, and flag patterns such as a spike in driver-related crashes or configuration problems. Takahashi also recounts Wardell receiving an agent alert about a build error during a Steam publisher sale. That is an anecdote about Stardock using its own product, not an independently audited case study.

Project tracking and other operations
The GamesBeat account describes agents creating and assigning Jira tasks, assembling operations dashboards from exported data, and scheduling work such as reviewing overnight logs or monitoring support forums. It also recounts an agent pausing an ad campaign after detecting abnormal bot-driven traffic. These are examples of claimed workflows, not guarantees that Clairvoyance will detect every issue or safely take action without oversight.
What the reported workflow looks like
In one GamesBeat example, a developer can hand a bug to an agent, which then works on a fix and submits it through Perforce or GitHub. Other examples include assembling a video edit from real footage and a script, or producing a dashboard from operational exports. These scenarios suggest a coordination layer around existing work and tools; the article does not establish that every studio’s repositories, engines, or task systems will work identically.

Stardock CEO Brad Wardell described the focus as work between creative and technical teams: “It’s kind of funny because we all thought AI was going to come for the writers and the artists and the engineers. Like, it’s that’s not what clairvoyance is mostly about taking care of the grunt work that’s in between all those three groups,” Wardell.
GamesBeat also reports Wardell’s estimate that level designers spend roughly 10% of their time on creative work and 90% on implementation and troubleshooting. The article does not cite a survey, sample, or underlying study, so this should be read as his characterization in that discussion—not a general statistic about the game industry.

Features and collaboration described by Stardock
Stardock’s May 2026 Beta 2 announcement described knowledge-trained agents, autonomous “Missions” with configurable guardrails and progress tracking, visual outputs such as rendered wireframes and interactive HTML exhibits, workspace relationship visualizations, and a code editor with language-server features and AI autocomplete. It also described browser access, organization-level Domains, and credential management. Those are Beta 2-era feature descriptions rather than a guarantee of the exact current feature set; check the Stardock news and changelog for newer details.
In its August 25, 2026 announcement, Stardock said Multiplayer AI lets another person join a live session and work with the same agents while the work remains on the host computer. The announcement also described access to sessions across computers and an iPhone app for directing work running on a user’s computers. These capabilities are described by the vendor; availability and current implementation may change. The announcement is available via Stardock’s August 25, 2026 release notice.

How much does Clairvoyance cost?
Pricing descriptions differ by date and tier. Stardock’s August 25, 2026 announcement called version 0.85 free to download and listed Pro at $20 per month, with cloud sync, team features, and AI tokens. The October 2 GamesBeat article describes a free base app, a lower-priced Plus sync tier, and a $20-per-month Pro tier with additional tools, tokens, Jira, and to-do management; it does not state Plus’s exact price. Treat these as dated snapshots, not a definitive current price list. Confirm available plans and terms on the Clairvoyance pricing page before subscribing.
What to check before adopting it
For a studio, the practical question is not just whether an agent can produce an output, but whether the workflow fits existing controls and tools. Before relying on Clairvoyance for production work, check:
- Which AI providers and local models are supported now, and what data each workflow sends outside the workstation, if anything.
- Whether the current build supports the studio’s operating systems, source-control setup, Jira configuration, custom engine, and relevant MCP or other integrations.
- How agents receive permissions, what guardrails apply to scheduled or autonomous Missions, and how humans review changes before they affect builds, campaigns, or player-facing services.
- Whether the plan includes the required collaboration, sync, and token allowances, and how those allowances are metered.
- How persistent project context is stored and shared across sessions, teammates, and computers.
These are evaluation criteria, not claims that a particular configuration is supported or secure. Neither a head-to-head product comparison nor independent outcomes data is established by the cited coverage.
