To survey more of Kreet afterward, use the scanner to complete the planet’s life, resource, and trait categories, checking other biomes if the current one is complete but the survey is not.
How to reach the Kreet Research Lab
- Open the Starmap and travel to the Narion System.
- Select Kreet, then choose the Kreet Research Lab on the planet map as your landing destination.
- After landing, approach the Crimson Fleet captain. The captain can be persuaded or fought; Bethesda’s mission walkthrough documents both options but does not establish one as better.
- Loot carefully and keep an eye on carried weight.

How to survey Kreet
Bethesda describes surveying as scanning three kinds of planetary features: inorganic resources, landmarks that reveal traits, and—on worlds with life—each flora and fauna species. The game tracks category progress and displays survey progress on the planet map. Bethesda’s scanning and surveying guide.
- Activate the scanner and look for an uncompleted target or feature.
- Scan the target. Some features or species require repeated scans before they register as complete.
- Check the planet map to see which survey categories remain: life, resources, or trait landmarks.
- Use the remaining category to guide your next search rather than repeatedly scanning targets already marked complete.
If the survey is stuck, check the biome
Completing one biome does not necessarily complete the planet’s life survey: species may not appear in every biome. If the HUD says “Biome Completed” while the planetary survey remains unfinished, return to orbit and land in a biome you have not yet visited. Gathering resources while exploring
For solid ore deposits, equip the cutter and mine the deposit. Bethesda gives the cutter’s approximate resource-mining range as 12 meters. Liquid and gas sources are collected directly rather than mined with the cutter; some resources can also be gathered from flora and fauna. The cutter is obtained during the first mission. What the Surveying skill changes
The Surveying skill extends scanner range and adds zoom options. Bethesda lists these scan distances by rank:

The available verified guidance establishes the mission landing destination and the general surveying mechanics, but not a complete Kreet-specific list of flora, fauna, resources, or traits. It also does not verify every fixed or optional point of interest on the planet. Use the scanner and map to identify what remains rather than relying on an unverified species list or assumed landing biome.
