Proxima Ternion is a level-65 system in Starfield with four planets and four moons. For a varied planetary survey, start with Proxima Ternion III: the unofficial INARA database lists five biomes, safe water, five fauna, and four flora there. Other resource targets include uranium on Proxima Ternion II and a broader list of minerals on III and IV.

Where is Proxima Ternion in Starfield?

Proxima Ternion is a level-65 system catalogued as WO 9540B, with an F6 star. INARA lists the star’s temperature as 6,510 K and its mass as 1.26 solar masses. Its system index cautions that map positions are approximate, so use the in-game Starmap to locate and plot a route rather than relying on a precise real-space position. The system and planetary figures here are in-game reference data, not real astronomical measurements. INARA is an unofficial database and warns that its information may not be entirely accurate. The Starfield Wiki independently agrees on the system’s level, F6 class, catalogue ID, and total body count, but no official Bethesda guide specific to this system is identified in the available sources. Which planets and moons are in the system?

Proxima Ternion has four planets and four moons:

  • Planets: Proxima Ternion I, II, III, and IV.
  • Moons: Proxima Ternion I-a, I-b, I-c, and IV-a.

The Starfield Wiki cross-checks the four-planet, four-moon count and these body names; the environmental and resource details below come from INARA’s listings. Starfield Wiki; INARA.

Which world is best for surveying?

Proxima Ternion III: the most varied listed survey

Proxima Ternion III is described as a cold rocky world with a high-oxygen atmosphere and safe water. INARA lists five biomes, five fauna, and four flora, making it the strongest documented choice in this system for a survey with varied terrain and life. Its biome shares are:

Biome Listed share
Frozen plains 31%
Savanna 25%
Ocean 24%
Hills 10%
Swamp 10%

These are database-listed biome proportions, not a guarantee of where a particular landing site will place you. Check the planet and its available landing regions in your Starmap, then scan locally for the resources and life you need. INARA’s Proxima Ternion entry.

Proxima Ternion IV and IV-a: colder, resource-focused stops

Proxima Ternion IV is listed as a frozen rocky world with two fauna and no flora. Its moon IV-a is barren. Their database-listed resources make them worth checking when you want to investigate the system’s cold outer bodies rather than prioritize biological variety. INARA.

What resources are listed on each world?

The following are the resources named by INARA. Treat these as reference targets, not confirmed deposits at every landing location; verify a specific resource with your in-game scanner.

Body Environment or survey notes Listed inorganic resources
Proxima Ternion I Hot gas giant Not stated
Proxima Ternion I-a Barren; inferno temperature Aluminum, helium-3, lead, fluorine, silver (listed across the inner moons; exact per-moon allocation is not stated)
Proxima Ternion I-b Rocky inferno-temperature moon; thin corrosive CO₂ atmosphere Aluminum, helium-3, lead, fluorine, silver (listed across the inner moons; exact per-moon allocation is not stated)
Proxima Ternion I-c Barren; inferno temperature Aluminum, helium-3, lead, fluorine, silver (listed across the inner moons; exact per-moon allocation is not stated)
Proxima Ternion II Rocky, scorched world; high-CO₂ atmosphere Uranium
Proxima Ternion III Cold rocky world; high-oxygen atmosphere; safe water; five listed biomes Aluminum, chlorine, copper, nickel, water, fluorine, caesium
Proxima Ternion IV Frozen rocky world; two fauna and no listed flora Chlorine, iron, uranium, water, HnCn, lithium, plutonium
Proxima Ternion IV-a Barren moon Aluminum, helium-3, europium

The inner-moon resource names are reported as a group in the reference data, without a per-moon breakdown, so the table does not assign individual deposits to I-a, I-b, or I-c. INARA’s system and body listings.

How should you choose a landing target?

  • For a broad survey: Begin with III, whose listed safe water, five biomes, and biological variety make it the clearest all-around exploration target.
  • For uranium: Check II for the database-listed uranium deposit; IV also lists uranium alongside several other resources.
  • For cold-world resources: Compare IV and IV-a against your needs: INARA lists a wider set on IV and aluminum, helium-3, and europium on its moon.
  • For the hot inner system: I-a, I-b, and I-c are listed as inferno-temperature bodies; I-b additionally has a thin corrosive CO₂ atmosphere. Use your scanner to validate any resource at the landing area.

Because INARA describes system positions as approximate and its planet information as potentially inaccurate, treat the lists as a shortlist for in-game checking, not a substitute for the Starmap and planetary scanner. INARA system index; INARA system entry.
