Starminer did not enter Early Access in 2024. After delaying the game and later parting ways with Paradox ARC, developer CoolAndGoodGames released it on Steam in Early Access on May 27, 2026. CoolAndGoodGames is now listed as both developer and publisher.
When did Starminer enter Early Access?
Steam lists Starminer’s Early Access release date as May 27, 2026, and the development team announced the game was available that day. The old “Early Access coming 2024” headline describes an original target, not the release date. Steam’s Starminer listing and the official Steam announcements record the release.
Why did the 2024 date change?
In November 2024, the team said Starminer would not enter Early Access that year and that it was then aiming for 2025. Its update described work in progress, including new modules, asteroid hauling and bases, campaign and sandbox modes, and a revised research tree. That 2025 target was also superseded by the eventual May 2026 launch. The November 2024 development update documents the delay and progress report.
What happened to Paradox ARC?
Paradox ARC and CoolAndGood Games announced on December 16, 2025, that they had mutually agreed to part ways. CoolAndGood Games said it would continue development independently. The separation changed the publishing arrangement, but did not cancel the game: it subsequently launched in Early Access under CoolAndGoodGames, which Steam lists as both developer and publisher. The Steam announcement archive includes the separation statement and later release notice.

What kind of game is Starminer?
Starminer is a space construction, mining, production, and logistics simulation. The original announcement introduced it under the name ILL Space and described a game about designing stations and fleets, mining, and strategic simulation. The developer’s current description emphasizes modular space construction, automated logistics, and defending against pirates and alien forces. Modes and setting
The developer FAQ describes three modes: Campaign, Sandbox, and Survival. It says the game spans the Sol, Lalande, and Alpha Centauri systems, with more than 25 distinct environments. Who publishes Starminer now, and where is it available?
Steam lists CoolAndGoodGames as both developer and publisher. The developer website lists Steam and the Epic Games Store as platforms; the precise release date established here is Steam’s May 27, 2026 Early Access listing. The website still labels the game “Early Access – May 2026,” while Steam gives the specific day. Check the Steam page and developer website for current availability information.
