Only two games in the available October 2026 price snapshot are both Steam Deck Verified and 90% off: Dying Light and Detroit: Become Human. That does not support a list of 25 qualifying games. The reported US prices were checked October 3, and the Steam Autumn Sale was due to end October 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific; check each store page before buying because prices can change.
Two games that meet both conditions in the dated snapshot
Digital Citizen reported these as Steam Deck Verified games at 90% off in its October 4, 2026 Autumn Sale roundup, using US storefront prices checked October 3. These are time-limited reported prices, not live guarantees.
| Game | Reported US sale price | Discount and stated list price | Deck status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dying Light | $2.49 | 90% off $24.99 | Verified |
| Detroit: Become Human | $3.99 | 90% off $39.99 | Verified |
Digital Citizen reported that the sale ended October 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific, while noting that prices can move. The same article identified 12 Verified games under $10 overall, but only these two examples in its reported list meet the 90%-off threshold. Its broader check found 171 qualifying Verified listings after rechecking 578 store-filter results; those counts describe the author’s October 2026 check, not a permanent Steam filter result. What Steam Deck Verified actually means
Valve defines Verified as a game that “works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.” Its review considers controller input, display settings and text legibility, whether the experience works seamlessly (including launchers), and system support such as Proton and anti-cheat. Valve’s Deck Verified guidance.
#1 Best Overall
- 1TB NVMe SSD
- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
Verified is not a performance rating: the badge does not promise a particular frame rate or battery life. Valve says ratings apply to both LCD and OLED models, and compatibility can change as games, updates, and Deck capabilities change. Valve does not publish the date a particular game was tested, according to the October 2026 reporting. Treat the badge as a compatibility guide, not a benchmark.
How to check current discounts and compatibility
- Find candidates: browse Steam’s sale listings with Deck compatibility filters, or use SteamDB’s Autumn Sale filters to narrow by discount, rating, and review count. SteamDB reported 40 products for thresholds of at least 90% discount, 90% rating, and 5,000 reviews when accessed; this third-party result is for discovery, not Valve confirmation.
- Open each game’s Steam store page: verify the live regional price, discount percentage, and sale end time. A filtered search result is not proof that the game is Verified.
- Confirm the exact compatibility label: use the store page’s Deck compatibility details. Do not treat Playable as interchangeable with Verified; Playable games may need manual adjustments. Steam’s search can help locate sale games and compatibility categories, but results need individual confirmation. Steam sale search with Deck compatibility filters.
- Check again before checkout: sale prices and availability are time-sensitive, and regional prices can differ from the US snapshot above.
Why this is not a 25-game list
The October 2026 evidence supports two named games at once meeting the 90%-off and Verified criteria, not 25. Other discounted titles surfaced in search, including Sniper Elite 4 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, but their appearance in sale results does not establish a Verified rating. Likewise, several other under-$10 games in the dated roundup were discounted by less than 90%: Darkest Dungeon was reported at 85% off, while Hades and Slay the Spire were each reported at 75% off. These are not qualifying substitutes.
Rank #2
- International (UK) Version
- 7.4” diagonal, HDR OLED, 1280 x 800 x RGB, up to 90Hz Refresh rate, High performance touch, <0.1 ms Response time, 1,000 nits peak brightness (HDR), 600 nits (SDR)
- SteamOS 3.0 (Arch-based)
- 512GB NVMe SSD, 16GB LPDDR5 on-board RAM (5500 MT/s quad 32-bit channels), microSD UHS-I supports SD, SDXC and SDHC
- 6 nm AMD APU, CPU: Zen 2 4c/8t, 2.4-3.5GHz (up to 448 GFlops FP32
The defensible buying checklist is therefore short: confirm a game’s current discount, exact Valve compatibility category, and regional sale deadline on its own Steam page. A broad discount filter can surface candidates, but cannot establish that a 25-game list meets both conditions.
