Contemporaneous reporting from PC Guide and MeriStation put the start at June 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time. That was 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 6 p.m. British Summer Time and 7 p.m. Central European Summer Time.

Valve’s official announcement confirmed the event was live on June 26, but its article text did not specify an opening hour. The 10 a.m. Pacific start time comes from the two contemporaneous reports above.
When did it end, and is the countdown still active?
Valve’s announcement said the sale would run through July 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. Pacific. Valve described it as “a full TWO WEEKS of sales on games of all kinds.”

As of October 8, 2026, the sale has ended, so there is no active countdown to its start. PC Guide noted that its countdown clock would indicate the sale had started once the clock was no longer showing; that describes its clock, not an official Steam countdown feature.
How to get notified about games on your wishlist
MeriStation advised readers to add wanted games to their Steam wishlist. Its article said Steam would email users when wishlist titles were on sale. That notification guidance did not mean every wishlisted game would receive a discount during the Summer Sale.
