The Steam game in the February 2026 giveaway report was Lost in Anomaly. The reported free-claim window ended February 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, so the offer is no longer available to claim. Players who claimed it during the window could keep the game in their Steam accounts.

What was the free Steam game?

Indie Game Bundles identified the game as Lost in Anomaly in its report published February 11, 2026. The report describes a horror game about detecting anomalies in a building and estimates a playtime of 25–75 minutes. Those gameplay details come from the secondary report; a corroborating Steam store listing was not available.

When did the claim window end?

The report gave a limited claim period from February 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PT through February 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PT. That deadline has passed. The dates and times are reported by Indie Game Bundles; Steam’s general Free to Keep documentation does not independently verify this specific promotion.

Could players keep the game?

Yes, if they claimed it during the promotion. Steamworks defines a Free to Keep promotion as “a time-limited promotion that allows a player to permanently acquire a license for a game for free.” The report says the claimed game could remain in the player’s Steam account. This is a license claim tied to an account, not a claim that no account was needed.

Lost Cities Card Game - with 6th Expedition | Two-Sided Board for Classic or New Edition | By Reiner Knizia | A Kosmos Game
  • Two-Sided Game Board
  • New Version

How Free to Keep differs from other Steam free offers

Offer type What happens Deadline or duration
Free to Keep Claiming during the promotion grants a permanent game license. Limited claim period; Steam removes the free package from the store page when the period ends.
Free Weekend Players get temporary access to a game. Access is temporary.
Free to Play The game remains free to acquire, rather than being temporarily discounted to free. No limited promotional claim window is inherent to this offer type.

These are Steam’s general offer categories, not additional details about the Lost in Anomaly promotion.

Is the game still available for free?

Not through the reported February giveaway: its claim window has expired. The available information does not establish Lost in Anomaly’s current store status, regional availability, or system requirements, so it cannot confirm whether the game can now be purchased or accessed another way.

Does a free Steam game require a credit card?

Steam Support says free-to-play games can be downloaded and played without a subscription or credit card. That general guidance concerns Free to Play games, not the account or regional conditions of this expired Free to Keep promotion. Steam Support also notes that accounts without a purchased game or funded Steam Wallet may have limited access to some Community features.
