In Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC), Freebooters are hostile targets in Ex-Borg progression: unlock the Ex-Borg faction, then defeat two Freebooters for Freebooter Hunt and six for Freebooter Dominance.
What are Freebooters in STFC?
Freebooter hostiles are targets for two Ex-Borg daily goals. Completing them earns Ex-Borg rewards, making Freebooter hunts part of the faction’s progression loop. Scopely describes the Ex-Borg as former Borg drones rebuilding their lives after breaking free of the Collective. The faction is positive-only: your actions do not reduce your Ex-Borg reputation. How do you unlock Ex-Borg and Freebooter dailies?
- Reach Operations Level 38.
- Complete We Are People Too. Scopely identifies this mission as the unlock requirement and says it awards your first Ex-Borg reputation points.
- Check your daily goals for Freebooter Hunt and Freebooter Dominance. They may not appear immediately after unlocking Ex-Borg; Scopely notes that they may show up after the next event reset.
How many Freebooters do you need to defeat?
| Daily goal | Freebooter hostiles to defeat | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Freebooter Hunt | 2 | Ex-Borg reputation and credits |
| Freebooter Dominance | 6 | Ex-Borg credits only |
Scopely says Ex-Borg credits can be used to unlock nodes in the Ex-Borg Research Tree or purchase faction-store chests. The two goals differ both in the required number of kills and in whether they award reputation.
Can Freebooters also count for events?
Yes. In its February 2026 interim event schedule, Scopely listed Quark’s Freebooter Hunt – SMS, an event scored by destroying Freebooters. This is a dated example; it does not establish that the event is running now or how often it returns. Scopely’s official STFC site lists the game for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
