The faction is positive-only, so player actions cannot reduce your standing.
How to unlock the Ex-Borg faction
- Reach Operations Level 38.
- Complete “We Are People Too” in the Holodeck. Scopely says this unlocks the faction and awards the first reputation points.
- Check Daily Goals for the Freebooter tasks. They may not appear until the next event reset after you unlock the faction.
These requirements are documented in Scopely’s current Ex-Borg Help Center entry; the original faction introduction is also covered in the Update 52 patch notes.

Which Freebooter daily gives Ex-Borg reputation?
Freebooter Hunt is the reputation-bearing daily: defeat two Freebooter hostiles to receive Ex-Borg reputation and credits. Freebooter Dominance requires defeating six Freebooters and awards credits, but the current Help Center listing does not say it awards reputation.
Do not count the two goals as equivalent if your immediate aim is reputation. Dominance can still be worthwhile when you want its credits.

Ex-Borg reputation ranks and thresholds
Scopely’s live Help Center lists these reputation brackets. The endpoint values meet at rank boundaries, so use the named rank thresholds—such as 22,500 for Distinguished—when checking a progression gate.
| Rank | Documented reputation points |
|---|---|
| Neutral | 0–1,250 |
| Tolerated | 1,250–3,000 |
| Neighbor | 3,000–4,750 |
| Friendly | 4,750–7,000 |
| Favored | 7,000–9,500 |
| Associate | 9,500–12,000 |
| Respected | 12,000–15,500 |
| Commended | 15,500–19,000 |
| Glorified | 19,000–22,500 |
| Distinguished | 22,500–63,000 |
| Celebrated | 63,000–105,000 |
| Esteemed | 105,000–154,000 |
| Venerated | 154,000–205,000 |
| Exalted | 205,000–260,000 |
| Liberator | 260,000 |
These are the thresholds shown on the live Help Center page retrieved October 8, 2026. Game systems can change, so check the in-game faction display if a precise current threshold matters.

What Ex-Borg reputation unlocks
Ex-Borg standing supports access to faction favors, the Ex-Borg store, and the Ex-Borg Research Tree. The faction’s store and research offer in-game progression and efficiency benefits; favors can include buffs such as repair technology, shields, and hull improvements. Scopely’s Update 52 notes describe the faction’s original store and research role, while the Help Center outlines the current faction overview.
What Distinguished Ex-Borg reputation opens
The documented Xindi expansion gate is Operations Level 40 and Distinguished standing, which begins at 22,500 reputation. Scopely’s Update 62 expansion notes describe the associated Xindi progression: defeating Xindi-Reptilian Warships yields Xindi Scrap, and Wanted Xindi-Reptilian Warships also yield Xindi Bounties. Those items can be exchanged for Ex-Borg reputation and credits, which support favors and other in-game exchanges.

The same 2024 update documented five additional Ex-Borg reputation levels and 25 new favors. It listed the expanded ranks from Celebrated at 63,000 through Liberator at 260,000. Treat the update as documentation of that expansion, not a promise that every related exchange remains unchanged today.

Update 64 documented daily Ex-Borg store bundles for Temporal Disruptors and Silent Nebula Tokens. In that release’s system, Silent Enemy hostiles supplied parts used in exchanges for disruptors, ship parts, Orbit Medallions, and artifact shards. This is update-specific information from 2024; check the live store and event screens to confirm which bundles or exchanges are currently available. See Scopely’s Update 64 patch notes.
